  • HOP spent most of his career at supermiddle before getting a shot at the vacant USBA middle belt and then the vacant IBF middle belt ,i think cos IBF is US and HOP was US champ thats how HOP got a chance at the IBF after only a handful of middle fights ,but it was a little unfair becos Roy was coming out of the olympics whereas HOP was comin out of prison- man da difference in trainin

HOP could of beat the middle Roy with counters if it was the mature HOP who got better with age like a fine wine

Both Jones and Hopkins had 21 wins at the time of fighting eachother.
ironically, roy jones beat 3 of the fighters on the very list that you use to try to discredit him (jorge castro, hopkins, reggie johnson)

Cry me a river. A Nigel Benn fan crying because Roy "ducked" him. Michael Watson knocked your hero Benn out with a jab.

Wow... how much of a hypocrit are you? You say Roy was garbage and his "fraudulent" greatness was only an illusion of him being overhyped. Then you go and make a comment like this saying that he was garbage because he was never hyped enough to get Pay per View fights... what planet are you from? You argue like a woman with all your double-standards.

Im my personall opinion. Roy Jones was never a big pay-per-view draw because whenever he fought any kind of decent opponent he fought extremely cautiously and therefore boringly.

They used to say he had the mentality

"make it passed this fight, look good in the next one."

I think he was exciting to watch and is underated. Yup thats underated, people put down all his opponents. Some of his opponents were actually decent. People called them bums because he beat them so easily. Titles from 160-heavyweight and he beat Hopkins and Toney. Two all time greats...
