Sorry? You should be ashamed, turning up just to make Manny look good.

But at least you are a true gentleman.....

when you had Manny hurt and on the ropes in round 6 (I think it was) backing up to the centre of the ring so that Manny could come off the ropes, reset, and start his offense again..... well that was just super-considerate.

It was the nicest, most polite act, that I have ever seen performed within the squared circle. What a true gentleman you were.

I have only ever seen that happen in the gym between sparring partners.
    Mak, Double A.....

I stand by that post, as do many other fans that watched that fight.....

Come on, it was not just the fact that the limited Clottey CHOSE TO IGNORE the only two boxing instincts that he possesses.....
    * knowing that you can get to your opponent
    * knowing that when you do, you can hurt him

But when he had Manny hurt and on the ropes in round 6 (I think it was) and he backed up to the centre of the ring so that Manny could come off the ropes, reset, and start his offense again..... well that was just super-considerate.

Mak, how does that fit into your assessment of the "defence-first" Clottey?

It was the nicest, most polite act, that I have ever seen performed within the squared circle. What a true gentleman Clottey is.

    I will say again.....
I have been participating in, and watching boxing, for over 30 years..... and I have only ever seen that happen in the gym between two sparring partners.

Oh wait, I just remembered something....

1.) Clottey's career was over as a top contender, when he showed that he could not even compete with a damaged Miguel Cotto

2.) he landed that fight as a last minute fill-in when the negotiations broke down with Mayweather

3.) Clottey's promoter is that dirty lying skunk Bob Arum, who just happens to have a potential $50mil payday on the back-burner, with Manny vs Mayweather.

Wow, Bob Arum seems to find himself - coincidentally - in the middle of some truly bizarre incident's..... doesn't he now?

    Come on guys.

Bob Arum is not gonna piss in my pocket and then tell me it's raining

Clottely got thrown a life-line, but he was not pulled up into the dingy.....
he was used as shark-bait, and most likely received a payday that he clearly did not deserve, and a promise of future fights.

His excuses were truly disgusting, and the funny thing is that he gave an "diahorrea excuse" immediately after the fight, yet did not even mention that amongst a raft of bizarre excuses when interviewed about a week later

I will add those ridiculous comments to this thread when I get home shortly.

He failed to turn it on because of pacquiao, combined with his style. He likes to block then throw, doesn't like to get hit. What happens when he's hopelessly out matched in speed and the other guy never stops throwing.......we saw it.

Cotto fight, he threw less and landed more. Was a 1 point fight on a fair card. He won more rounds but the knock down made it close. And he thought he was winning with cotto bloody and back peddling in the late rounds. Had the fight been in ghana you would be saying cotto failed to turn it on.

12 competitive rounds with cotto. And lasted 12 against pacquiao. Better then most i would say. He's a classic ghana fighter with the double guard. Unless he adapts a new style he will always fight that way. Defense first.

Don't confuse clashing styles(or a defensive style) with a lack of heart.

clottey has a message for his fans lol!what fans e******o, pendejo? nobody wants to see a punching bag against top opposition considerating you could have beaten pacquiao, cause pacquiao was all bruised up in the face, he looked like arturo gatti coming out of a war when clottey landed some good but very little output of punches.

Clottey is right. Margarito will be another punching bag like him.

Clottey had the size, defense, chin, counter ability and accuracy to
beat Manny but he just was there to survive and get the check.

                      Here are the Clottey excuses.....

NOTE : Not a single mention about the diahorrea excuse, that Clottey gave immediately after the fight.

                      1.) " I don't know how to explain..... "

2.) " I really don't understand what happened to me in that fight..... "

3.) " I just think it was one of those things..... "

                      4.) " I don't know what happened..... "

5.) " I knew I could hurt him when I threw my power shots..... "

                      6.) " I didn't feel like his punches really hurt me..... "

                      7.) " I felt OK after..... "

8.) " there are so many reasons the fight happened the way it did..... "

Clottey gave each and every one of those excuses within a different sentence, don't think for one second that I pulled one sentence to pieces and extracted all that ****

Maybe you need to look for a more credible source, because Clottey said a lot of funny things in that interview.

And he did not get countered into submission in that fight.

That is total bull****..... people need to watch that fight again and tell me when that happened. Everyone know what counter-punching is?
