Yeah, the loser will either get a rematch or face Ward. The winner will either get a rematch or face the winner of Green-Johnson. That'll be the semis.

They own super middle. They could have good matchups for years to come.

shame on all the people who were bragging about Bute milking his belt and not wanting the real challenges and the bigs fights, the good opponents and all of that, this deal is the proof Bute is out there to face the best, it was just a matter of time or timing if you like

can't wait for the first match between a super sixer and Bute, he's going to whoop them boys like Froch easy

take that in the teeth Bat

No, the proof of that will come when he faces one of the top guys. Or should I say 'if'? Yeah, a pretty big 'if' as well, considering the rest of his career.

The article states that it's a three fight deal. So his first fight will be a handpicked opponent, and you'll defend it saying that the semis are taking place so no-one is available. Then his next fight will be another handpicked opponent, and you'll defend it saying that the best two are unavailable, and the guys who just lost in the semis want some time off, even if there's no evidence of that. Or you'll say that they don't deserve a shot because they're coming off of losses.

Then by the time the tourney is done, Bute will probably have a new bull**** mandatory, at which point you'll suddenly proclaim the importance of alphabelt belts and say that he is right to defend his title instead of facing a legit challenge. Even if that isn't the case, he'll probably go off and have a big-money fight with Danny Green, which you'll defend because 'boxing is a business' or some such BS.

Maybe Bute will finally step up. It's possible, and I hope it happens. But let's not jump the gun and start praising him based upon him signing a TV deal, because it really isn't the statement of intent you seem to see it as.

They will if the money is right. Montreal has a great fight scene now.
