Thats true Camarena really made Roy Jones look great. In Camarena's defense he was fighting a guy who was tough to be slick against and he did rope a dope Padilla well enough to the point where Padilla's handspeed was as slow as anyone's I have ever seen in the last few rounds. Thats the main reason Camarena came on late but it was still a very close fight and a ***** to score. Padilla should have went to the body more. Every time Padilla landed when Camarena was against the ropes was after Padilla started low and snuck one to the head.

      DONT FORGET:
      clean punching
      effective aggressiveness
      ring generalship
      defense.

tell me if you need that explained.

during this fight, i kinda thought that padilla looked sloppy. he was just throwing and throwing, and connected like 20% of the time. camarena threw less punches, but his punches were quality and clean. in the last round he connected with 38 power shots.
padilla threw something like over 200 punches in the last round.
fewer, clean punches > more, sloppy, glancing blows

I was not scoring the fight but when I do I score 1 point for a glancing blow or light jab, 2 points for a stiff jab, 3 points for a clean power shot, 4 points for a power shot that staggers, 5 points for a powershot that buckles the knees. Whoever has the most points at the end wins the round. If the points are within seven of one another I score the round even. I dont know where I came up with this system or why I did I just did. I Thought Camarena/Padilla fight ended with a hometown decision. Carmarena may have deserved the win but it was very close and it was a very tough fight to score. The judges had it one sided for Carmarena.
