If Mayweather-Pacquiao doesn't happen through the next negotiations, then this fight needs to happen. The only viable option I see for Pacquiao besides Martinez or P-will

JMM has a syle that gives Pac problems, these guys need to handle their unfinished business and I don't care what weight the fight is at. It boggles my mind how Pacquiao can let JMM go to his home of the Phillipines to call him out with no response
Wake up, stop dreaming, live with it, let go of the hangup, live in the present.

Pacman can never go down from 147 even if he wanted to, and he could retire to politics anytime now, and JMM is too old. Pacman doesn`t need to kill an old man, he is too rich for that now.

JMM took a risk with FLoyd which diminished his fight value, and he has to live with that choice.

        End of thread.

Marquez probably wants a catch-weight because he can't be effective above 135, and manny likes being above 145.

So it's just a lot of complications when manny could be doing bigger and better things, and do it comfortably instead of going down in weight when he's on such a roll.

We all know what happened to Roy Jones.
If he can fight bigger guys at catchweights why can't he fight Marquez at a catchweight? Manny's best weight is probably 140lbs. imo anyway. I think JMM would love to fight Pac no matter what the weight stipulations are, because he's that confident that he can beat him.

Not Bob Arum but Richard Schafer however he is not more honorable than Bob Arum IMO. But, I don't know how you feel about him. However, he is GBP CEO who is the promoter of JMM. So take it as you want.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer told Sports Illustrated that he was approached on Thursday by Top Rank for a trilogy bout between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez. A shocking demand was made by Marquez. He requested a 50-50 split on the money with Pacquiao. For a guy chasing a Pacquiao trilogy since their 2008 rematch, Marquez found an amazing way to say "no thank you."
Now you said that "no way JMM deserves a 50/50 split."

So you agree that JMM out priced himself out of the third fight. Right?

Now who do you blame for the 2nd fight not happening way sooner than they 4 years it took?

Mind you Pac offered him what like 750k? And, JMM turned that and went to Indonesia and fought for what like 75k(didn't forget a number it was 75k or maybe less TBH) in a fight that he lost to Chris John.

So who do you blame for that?

I agree, but I'm not holding my breath. These two great warriors gave us a great show twice, who wouldn't want to see a third fight?

As I remember it, after their second fight GBP were calling for an immediate re-match but Arum said they should wait a while and the third fight build up. That said to me that Arum didn't want to make a third fight because, realistically, it's never going to be any bigger or btter than it was then.

Manny has grown into the bigger weights and he's probably too big for JMM now, who shouldn't be fighting any higher than 135 (I think he could probably still make 130).

I would have loved a third fight back then. I had the first fight even and JMM winning the second 114-113.
