Androstendione metabolizes into nandrolone which raises testosterone past natural levels. At the time it was sold in nutritional stores all across the country. He didn't take something that was considered by law to be illegal. As an example NCAA rules prohibit the use of the supplement " Jack3d" because it contains 1,3 1,3 Dimethylamylamine, which is not classified as a banned substance, however, prohibited by certain regulatory bodies.

Fernando Vargas tested positive for an anabolic agent (nandrolone) after taking a product made by VPX sports (makers of the energy drink Red Line), which again at the time was not classified as a banned substance. You can find references to Jones/Andro by simply performing a search. The reporting practices under the commission at the time simply classified his positive result as the result of using an anabolic agent, they don't make a distinction. Well androstendione is an anabolic precursor, just not illegal...or wasn't at the time. The specifics of his positive test result have always been public.Last edited by switchsouthpaw; 11-02-2010, 10:13 AM.

It's boxing, man! You have almost no chance of getting caught and when you do...who cares?

The difference between a prohormone vs anabolic steroid, apart from one being legal and the other not legal at the time, is that PH's must go through a conversion in the body elevating testosterone. Anabolic steroids require no conversion. Fernando Vargas tested positive for nandrolone after taking a product made by VPX sports, which again at the time was not classified as a banned substance. 1) When did Jones test positive?
2) What year did Andro end up on the banned substances list?
3) Do the ****ing math moron and you'll see how much of an idiot you are.
Nandrolone is present in the body, use of PH's can elevate nandrolone levels past what is perceived as "normal levels", hence raising testosterone. Which is what triggered a positive result. His testosterone was 7x the normal limit.
I can see you're a guy who is incapable of sifting through information, so again you attack me rather than the context of my posts.
So now you're an expert in steroid testing? Jesus Christ what else are you an expert in, besides **** riding? He tested positive from a urine sample and they only tested for what was considered banned at time, they don't draw a distinction between a legal product and an anabolic steroid. You're not that smart of a guy, a lot of people here know it but you being the useful idiot that you are continue posting things to which you have no direct knowledge of.Last edited by switchsouthpaw; 11-02-2010, 10:26 AM.
