Spanish is a more complex language that english in the sence that there are more grammatical rules of conjugating verbs. Capetillo literally says in english that his punches should be more solid in the sense that they needed to be more solid. In other words, Capetillo told him that he needed more solid punches. He also told him that he was slow, he knew that the few punches that he was landing needed to be more solid. I don't think I can make it clearer.

There must be something lost in translation or maybe I don't understand boxing. I had always assumed that fighters do not pull their punches. I do not know. I am not a boxer.

I always thought that a boxer swings less to conserve energy, and slips, blocks or uses footwork to avoid getting hit. So if I am correct (and where I am not I welcome correction), why would he be hitting less hard? Why would Capetillo tell him to punch more solid?

So either something is lost in translation, I don't know much about boxing (which I don't, I just enjoy watching it) or there is not much to interpret and Capetillo's words ARE indeed suspect.

I think I understand what you think Capetillo meant...but I don't get why a boxer would punch less hard than he could against a target that is trying to avoid being hit...unless he meant simply, 'you need to connect with your punches and stop missing.'

I'd be very surprised that this new & improved Pacquiao loses to basically a guy with a journeymen-like record in the first round who got owned by a 37 year old Mosley. Mayweather vs Pacquiao would not be interesting at all to me, as of right now it's not that interesting anyways. Maybe Arum and Haymon can come together and agree on a deal with Mayweather and Margarito but I doubt it since they hate eachother and have shown they can't do business together. I'm pretty sure Margarito would agree to any amount of tests and stuff.

I understand what you are saying. I don't think they had a plan to be more solid at a certain stage. Capetillo was begging him to throw more solid shots. "Deben ser" Can be translated to "should be" or "need to be" in this case what I think Capetillo was telling Margarito that he needed to land more solid shots because he was begining to land more. I think it would be easier to understand if you knew spanish. At least that's how I interpret it.
