David Haye is clearly milking his popularity before he fights klitschko

Wlads tv deal makes it virtually impossible for 50/50 straight down the middle. Wlad wont let Haye touch any of the German TV money.Comment

Well yeah, that's been apparent for a while now. But neither he, nor his fans, should expect anyone else to actually like it, nor give him any less shit than they're giving him now.that's the only reason he's fighting harrison. Money. He knows the klitschko's aren't going anywhere and in the UK, there are really only three big names - haye, khan, and for better or worse, Audley Harrison.
Haye is a smart guy, he knows there is a very good chance he'll get beat by klitschko and if he does, there really aren't any big fights left for him. So in his mind it's make some money now, then fight klitschko and retire.
of course it's irritating to us fans who want the fight now, but I see what he's doing. It's business and it's smart from a financial standpoint.
BTW, I've said it jokingly in the past, but I'm seriously starting to doubt that he even fights a Klitschko, not even as a retirement fight. Haye's got his sights set on Hollywood, and an embarrassing loss to Wlad would seriously hamper his "cool" "hardman" image, as well as potentially harming his looks. I'm thinking the plan for next year is something like Holyfield/Jones then Dimitrenko then Hollywood.Comment

very good post and i agree with you 100 percent, everyone in uk is hyped about this fight, only hardcore fans are not happy with it.they have already sold out M.E.N arena in manchester, thats over 22000 people.that's the only reason he's fighting harrison. Money. He knows the klitschko's aren't going anywhere and in the UK, there are really only three big names - haye, khan, and for better or worse, Audley Harrison.

haye is smart and he is going to make alot of money from this and then he will fight one of the brothers imoComment

If he's smart then he stay as far away from a Klitschko as possible. Wlad's planning bad things for the guy if he ever steps in the ring with him, and with all this Hollywood talk I honestly question whether Haye even thinks it's worth it at this point, 50-50 or not.Comment

not excatly true bro...
i think they agreed on 50/50 but the klit brothers said haye gets zero from thier t.v deal, which haye agreed to, only if he gets to keep all the u.k ppv money and thats where the contract broke down
they will fight,if it makes money it makes sense
haye knows hes got a very good chance of loosing so he will make sure he gets alot of money from itComment

i think haye will fight him,hes got a punchers chance and why not for all that money.we all know wlad hits hard and hayes soft chin might not hold up.if haye gets stopped in 4-5 rounds and makes millions,of course he will do it,why not
its all about the money.....Comment

I know it's all about the money, which is why I'm starting to question it. If you were in Haye's shoes and you knew you could sell out a stadium fighting a (Joe Frazier forgive me) bum like Harrison or a washed up has-been like Evander and then pursue a potentially lucrative career in Hollywood then wouldn't you go down that route? Sure, he'll make a mint fighting Wlad, but he'll also get his face bashed in and made a laughing stock by the British press (who'll turn on him like wolves, believe me). If Haye's thinking about life after boxing then I don't see where a Klit enters that equation.Comment
