You are much harder on Manny vs Cotto where Cotto was 1lb under his previous fight and more importantly, we now know that even at 147 Manny would have taken it ... and same goes for the one against Margo who was option #2 for Manny. Floyd was his #1 choice.

Manny got an opportunity and he took it(at 154). It doesn't have to be against the best in that weight class. It was vacant and being a 147 champ, he can go for it, straight up. I agree that Margo is somewhat a questionable call for a title but that has been discussed in other threads and had some validity to it.

This is Manny's first fight at 154 so I can understand the catchweight thing even though, as I have said in the past, would have prefered at 154. Just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean it's not valid. It just means that YOU don't like it.

This can end up being a good fight and at the end of the day, as a boxing fan, that is what I am hoping for.

Don't discuss Foreman as though that statement was made yesterday. Manny needs to be careful with who he fights because he can one day get in the ring with someone that is just too big and too strong for him. It's happened with other fighters and can happen with Manny. When that comment was made, they didn't think they were ready for Foreman. If you asked them that question today, I bet you anything that the answer would be different.

I would have never had a problem with the Cotto fight if Pacman's 3rd title fight above 140 wasn't at a catchweight,2 in 3 is bad!!What opportunity did Pacman get at 154??I recall no such thing!!If Pacman is too small for 154,he shouldn't be there, but if he is,fight worthy opponents not some in house handpicking!!

Manny is getting the opportunity to fight for a VACANT title at the 154lbs division. He accepted it and who his opponent was. When it's for a vacant title, there can be some dispute on who should get that opportunity but they had Margo ranked high enough to get that right. That's just the way it was. I believe that is what you can't accept but that is not Manny's problem. Even the cathweight is within the rules. So unless they change the rules, you will always get fights such as P.Williams vs Martinez or Manny vs Margo. This is not the first nor the last time that this will happen.

Oh, Manny had the option of doing it again against Cotto at 154 and it would have been legit since Cotto holds a title BUT nobody would have bought a repeat so soon without Cotto showing he still has it.

At the present time, most, including myself, prefer a Margo fight than a Cotto fight.
