MMA is the greatest thing that happend to Boxing...(MUST READ!!!)

You know I heard both sides but forget both sides because I realized something...mma is the best thing that ever happend to boxing and it just validates how AMAZING and EFFECTIVE the art of boxing is and how awesome it is to martialing all your arts in your fist with foot movement.

Think about it, before mma people thought them silly point karate fighters where the baddest mofos ever or if some guy that can break board can beat tyson or ali and how much you have to put up with traditional martial artist saying boxing isnt a real martial arts or it isnt effective as other striking arts.

But thanks to the ufc/mma we found out how importent boxing really is specialy with those gloves AND the muay thai/kickboxers know the importence of boxing and hand/feet movement.

So in closing the ufc showed that out of all the striking martial art goes boxing/thai kickboxing are the TWO superior martial art when it comes to striking. The mma may not be good for sport of boxing but is GREAT for the art of boxing!!!!

You can exploit the sport but the art is true to the heart!!!!

      yeah, its true

college/olympic style wrestling and western boxing have become established "dominant" martial arts, even though submissions from sambo/bjj and leg work from kickboxing are required at the highest levels, an MMA fighter who just has excellent boxing and wrestling can "get by"

its hard to believe only like, 5, 10 years ago people thought a kung fu ninja master would kill any boxer with some finger poke death strike

traditional martial arts have lost their mystique and most people finally understand that theyre meant to be.. well, traditions, moreso than scientific combat forms

*** mma it will never have the intrigue , the great epic 3,4,5 fight series between two great fighters .

Boxing has the greatest commentary ever aswell

Sometimes you get so attachted to a certain fighter or fighters you feel like you're in there walking to the ring for a big fight , feel the nervousness , pre fight jitters , anxiety ... all culminating to the big burst of wxcitement in victory , or the crushing feel of defeat, only to spend the night thinking what should have been done , or if that left hook landed in the 6th round.

For this my friends is the great sport of BOXING

Also as effective as wrestling is people LOVE a good fist fight at the end of the day and also jack dempsy cross trained in catch wrestling and he believed that wrestling helps to build strong core and power that can be transferd to boxing and its a great cardio workout that can be mixed with running.

Say what you want about mma but thanks to it I dont have hear some mystical master saying how the "tiger kamikazi punch" would destroy any boxer!!!

Now we know that boxing, kickboxing are the two MAJOR striking arts!!!

No matter what your combat sport is you still need the Strict aspect of boxing to be implemented to your game which would be: Solid stance, footwork, jab are the foundation of not just boxing but kickboxing and mma and it just happens to be that boxers have got those foundations to the perfection and thats the art of boxing.

Wether they can co-exist or not is not my problem thats up to the promoters.

What I mean is that art of boxing will always be in high regards!!! The sport of boxing may not because of poosy hips like mayweather.

The art ART of boxing can survive and thrive and the demand is gonna be high for boxing coaches needed to improve the boxing skills of a kickboxer, mma fighter or a wrestler who is looking to get in to some form of shootfighting type sport!

I feel boxingscene readers fear not that the art of boxing will be eradicated, it will live on in the form of mma for the forseeable future. Readers are more concerned that people won't like boxing in the future and that all the new floyd mayweathers will be training boxing for mma rather than boxing the sport as boxing could be obsolete in the future. mma is still a huge threat to sport boxing

                    Fact

Boxing is clearly superior striking, and Olympic Wreslting is superior ground work. All those knees and elbows r mostly ineffective and look ******ed. Kicks can be cool sometimes, but nothing gets the job done more effectively than a good punch. That's why Rampage Jackson is where he is.
