I believe the 7 up commercial came after the Duran fight. But I'm not 100% sure. Duran was famous in a different way, just like Tyson. Tyson never did commercials. But everyone in the world knew who tyson was. Just everyone knew Duran at that time, he was god of boxing at that time. That is why he's a legend today, not for his fights against Ray, Hearns & Hagler.

Believe me....While not as respected a fighter, by real fight people, as Duran....Leonard was the goddamn star.
If ONE guy was to get the benefit back then...it would have been the CASH COW.

Didn't Duran made more money then Ray in the first fight. I think he did, yes Ray became the CASH COW after the Duran fights. After beating 2 legends like Benitiz & Duran anyone will become a CASH COW. How old were you during the first Ray/Duran fight???
