I am curious as to who u rate ? please answer or shut up with these ****** comments like chavez was overated let roy jones go over 80 fights without loss dispute what u like ie whitaker, Taylor he fought met of much higher calibre than Jones did or many other fighters why do u think he is rated so high by fans, because like Gatti he came to fight but was much more skilful than Gatti. At Lightweight was one of the best

Both Duran & Chavez are loved by the press & the media. This is the biggest problem I have, whatever the press says about a fighter, then fans will follow. In all sports it's the press that makes an athlete great or bad. If the press loves you, then you are one of the greatest. I like to judge athletes myself & don't go what the press or the media says about an athlete.

both are killers, but if i must chavez is little overrated. he got own in one of his biggest fight and it in his prime. and he got some fights i think he didnt won aswell so..duran always looks sharp, but in the second fight vs leonard he looks little fater and slower, maybe because he got older and slower?.

For someone with Chavez's relentless style...he actually had good defense.
Check him out in his younger days, he slipped lots of punches as he came in. Of course he got hit a lot....he always came forward & moved his hands....which forced his foes to punch back furiously as well. He was gonna get hit no matter what.
But, in his prime, he had an amazing ability to take a punch.

As for Duran's defense. I would rate it as EXCELLENT.

Both have been overrated by some.....but every great fighter gets overrated in some way.
Anyone can sit back & pick apart someone so exalted. People do it with these two, as well as with fighters like Roy Jones, DeLaHoya, Hopkins, Leonard, etc...

Go **** yourself. Last thing I care about if someone hates me. That is my opinion, just like you can have your opinion. I never said that they were bad fighters, in my opinion they are a little overrated, especially Chavez. Whitaker & PBF will always beat guys like Chavez or Duran period.

Neither. In their prime condition they'd whoop anybody in their respective weight classes today.

                Easily.

No defensive skill whatsoever. I dont care for him like I dont care for Roy Jones. Both built a career on bums but at least Roy was gifted athletically in a way Ive never seen before in boxing.

Was he one of the greats? no. but we all have our opinions just like i love James Toney and everything he does and have done but that don't mean everybody loves him and i'm sure people have there opinions about him and if he is bad or whatever but i don't call it hate i call it what it is an opinion...............

Chavez was aight but he never showed me no defensive skill all he did was come at you and rip you apart but if thats the case would Iran Barkley be one of the greatest to box ?

The Future its funny how you pay so much attention to me you call me a nuthugger cause i talk about James Toney so much you call me a *** when you give me karma but if i'm all of that why do you pay me so much attention ?

James Toney quote "those guys can never be like me julio ceaser chavez there not me i've defended my title more times in 11 months then any of them"

Chavez had NO defensive skill ?
You, as usual, don't know what you're talking about.
Read my previous post in this thread....it tells the real tale.
