    Great post.

I don't think he is a fully flat footed fighter now though, He still has the footspeed to get in and out, tbh I want to see him fight again very soon, because I'm still unsure about what has changed about him since his retirement. He has looked great in his 2 fights, but something feels different.

I would love to see him let his hands go more often, but I would hate to see him break his hand again and have a performance affected by injury, especially considering every fight he will be having these days is a huge spectacle and mega fight.

I seriously think Mayweather started doubting himself, if ever so slightly, the more he moved up in weight. It's only natural.

But damn...130lb Floyd, brittle hands and all, was a monster.
Camacho Sr at his prime would devistate fighters with his handspeed and underrated power, until the Haugen fight where he was hurt badly and lost, from then on you saw a Camacho that would not take the risk's he once would take.I Think the same thing happened to Floyd.

he did sign the fight. pac didnt , get with the program and read

no, he is whatever is necessary type of fighter. Is he more flat footed then he used to be, yes i would agree. but is he a flat-footed fighter, no he is not.

But I could never think of a way Floyd at 130 could be beat. It was the perfect combination of movement, agression and boxing.

Now there's quite a few opponents out there that can make his life miserable. He knows this, that is why he avoids a certain type of fighter.

edit: I think it's also not so much capability as his comfort zone. An opponent that pushes him to the limit could bring out the monster boxer that he is (people say that was Mosley I disagree). It's not exactly like he's exhausted or barely makes the end of fights.
like who exactly do you think will make his life miserable?

floyd is a lot smarter now. he just not gonna be moving around anymore if it is not necessary. he sets up things much better now and sometimes waits too long like in the Oscar fight. But i agree he is smarter.

pacquiao only got good footwork coming forward and attacking. if u punch back, he backs straight back. i don't think he has any physical advantage against Floyd. For 1, he is not as fast as people make him out to be. he puts combos together fast, but he not that quick. i haven't seen Zab lately, but Zab was quicker than he so i don't think Floyd waiting on him at all. Floyd wants things his way and I think Floyd doesn't necessarily want to go gring in gym hard liek he used to.

I mean Floyd is coming to the end of his career. We not going to see him much longer.

IDK - I'd have to see it to believe it. Because Floyd's style always used to be to move around the first 3-4 rounds then settle down and be flat-footed. Seems like that's gone totally out of the window.

floyd never took unnecessary risks though. he started off real defensive when he was with dad. he didn't step it up offensively until Roger started working with him.

I can count on 1 hand where Floyd had got clipped significantly. So that's not an issue of his. Floyd just has high ring iq and he uses it fully when in the ring which could means sometimes he not gon let his hands go until he needs too or when the time is right.

ok, baldomir prolly was the last fight he fought fleet footed. his opponents since then have been oscar, hatton, Marquez, and mosley.

Mosley, u defintely don't want to try and move backwards against him. Hatton, he was throwing check hooks the whole fight, its hard to throw a check hook if u not standing in there. marquez was smaller and couldn't hurt him so there was no need to bounce around for him. So part of it has to do with his opponents.

Let margarito win against pacquiao and he fight margarito, i bet you he be moving. if Pacquiao is next, he gon back him up and circle him from time to time. imdazed, im trying to tell u he can still move his legs. maybe not like he did against Corrales, but definitely he did against Castillo.

Maybe he can move his legs but DEFINITELY not like what he did against Castillo. Not 12 pounds and 8 years later. HELL NO.
