What other reason to explain his decision to pass on the opportunity to stay busy and instead pursue a dangerous showdown with the younger and undefeated Juan Manuel Lopez? [Click Here To Read More]
Lopez may be more exciting, and a bigger name, than John, but John is rated higher and would be more likely to beat Rafa. So if it was really about being the very best he would be fighting John.

That would also be a very intriguing fight because he could avenge his brother's loss, if he won.

The way all the top contenders are being allowed to avoid the top ranked fighter in the division is criminal.

Rafael will knock Lopez cold, he knows he's already 4 rounds down against the Bob Arum Mafia.

Rafael will shock the world! He hasn't shown no age at all. People just count him out because of the wars which is ******. He'll knock Lopez out. Just wait!

I guess I meant the best active featherweight. John hasn't fought in a year, and went the GBP route when he was semi-active. Plus he's fighting some tune-up (forget his name). So... not exactly available for Marquez to have fought. (Not to mention that John still owes Gamboa a title shot)
