its nothing. some have a harder time than others. ricky hatton for example drop 40 pounds each camp no problem where joan guzman has a problem. everyone different.
martinez is prob use to it and looks like he doesnt gain too much in fat.

Clearly you know what you're talking about brotherr and i've only got one grievance

ricky hatton's dropping 40 lbs to fight at 140 and the lifestyle that came with gaining all that weight deffinately cut his career short

This proves to me that one.... P-Will is really not as big as most of his haters say he is. He is tall as fuck, but he doesn't have that much meat to him for a man his height.

And, two.... Martinez is not a small MW as most people think he is.

No wonder Williams wanted a catchweight fight.

I agree and I've had a similar experience. Though I could understand people's concerns about 30 days maybe being too short of a window.

Losing a substantial amount of weight in a short amount of time can never be good. The question is whether 30 days in too short for him and how well his body will respond to it.

Like I told Queloque.........threads like this are good because they let you know which posters know about the sport of boxing, and which ones don't. I agree with what you are sayin 100%.

Martinez knows his body inside and out. He also knows how much water weight he can lose without it affecting his performace. I'm sure as long as he is around 163-165lbs a week or so before the fight.....he will be fine.

Again he just has to lose 10-12lbs of actually weight in 3 weeks...which isn't ****. From that point, being within 5-8lbs of the 157lb weight limit, there are a number of things a boxer can do to safely lose that extra weight, while allowing to rehydrate up proper and feel good on fight night.

People keep throwing around 20lbs when it's not even that. He has a target weight in which he knows he has to make so he won't weight drain himself. Dude is a professional and knows what he is doing. I mean when is the last time you ever heard of Sergio struggling or failing to make weight. I sure the hell have never heard such a thing.

lol people were surprised of the catchweight?

Felix Sturm LIKE MARTINEZ walks around 200 pounds when his not in training camp.
AA walks around 180+ lbs (hes small 5'8, thats because hes not around 200 lbs)

thats why Pwill isnt a middleweight and Sergio Martinez with his age belongs to middleweight. thats because he wanted a catchweight.

people like Burner who doesnt box and doesnt understand the way of boxing also thought Floyd knocks people (JMM/Mosley LMFO) out.

damn, I thought this is common knowledge.
