FOOL - it doesn't matter if they are currently ranked in the division or not... They are so good, that if they decided to enter the division permanently, you would have no other choice but to start them off in the top 5 at least... Depending on the talent in that weight class. EX: If, let's say, Andre Ward announced he was moving to the LHW division, based upon the talent already there, and Ward's current status as SMW, he would enter the division worthy to challenge for a title in his first fight... THANK YOU, NOW I SAY GOOD DAY

So, you're ok with fighters jumping into divisons and winning titles without fighting anyone of consequence, or without beating any of the current title holders? Meaningless vacant titles are good enough for you? Great. You're really a knowledgable boxing fan that's good for the sport.FOOL - it doesn't matter if they are currently ranked in the division or not... I am a very knowledgeable boxing fan and I am good for the sport
I order PPV's, go to live fights, member of the BWAA - I actually contribute to the sport and the fighters...
I think it is perfectly acceptable for a pound for pound ranked fighter that is the top of his weight class, should be able to IMMEDIATELY fight for a title at another weight class of his choosing with/in reason - can't go from WW to SMW, for example... but I see absolutely nothing wrong or "cheap" with what Pac has done... He is clearly the best WW in the world - with wins over two top five WW"s in clottey and cotto... Thereby, fighting for a vacant title against a worthy challenger, in Margarito, is fine.
Wind the clock back many years ago - and you would laugh yourself to death if someone said Pacquiao would fight, and beat the guys he has - starting with Oscar...Comment

AND if, err, when Pac beats Margarito - he should be able to fight for a title at MW... He would definitely be better than basically all of the "mandatory ranked" challengers for the title at MW... Even with Pac's HUGE size disparity compared to MW's, he would still be favored against essentially everyone, or ALMOST everyone that would be a potential MW title challenger...Comment

You really honestly believe that Pac fighting Margarito for a vacant title is meaningful at all? You really really do?Comment
