This is the strangest thing I have heard in a while in boxing, is he really that terrified of a potential Wlad beating?

He has the chance at the HW title and a career high payday just waiting for him and he wants to go back and try and do what he did years ago against a bunch of young kids, for free!?

That's how Teddy gets his jollies: destroying fighters. And when Povetkin finally gets KO'd by a tomato can, Teddy will walk away and say Povetkin just didn't have what it takes. Teddy will never take the blame.

Fighters seem to lose their heart while working with Teddy Atlas.

For example, Michael Grant showed lots of heart in the Lewis and Golota fights, but after he started working with Teddy he seemed to lack heart.

This is about one of Grant's fights with journeymen after Atlas started training him:

          http://boxrec.com/media/index.php?title=Fight:553792

After a fairly lackluster performance by Grant, he scored a knockdown in round eight plus a few more blows, which led to the referee's stoppage. ESPN reported that Grant landed 10/76 jabs, to his opponent's 0/10, in the first seven rounds. Post-bout, on live TV, trainer Teddy Atlas attacked Grant's emotions in a pep talk.
Teddy has attacked all the fighters he's worked with - Moorer, Briggs, LaLonde, Grant, etc - for lacking heart - but when they get AWAY from Atlas, they show plenty of heart! A good example is Briggs in his fight with Vitali.

Teddy is a nutcase who diminishes the boxers' self-confidence.

In all honesty though, how amazing would it be if they allowed pro fighters to fight in the olympics. People might get some fights they really wanted as fighters might go to represent their country. I know people would say, why would they do it for free, but USA basketball does it every year. Heck, I could see even Vitali and Wlad fighting eachother if they were given headgear and a shorter fight etc..

The new amateur league will be paying his fighters, but oh my god the fear is strong in Haye and Povetkin, to bad, i would have like to watch them being brutally KO'd by the Klits.
