After watching the clip several things are obvious to me.
TBH I wouldn't expect Roach to really say anything different. He trains both fighters, both have an important upcoming fight and he needs them BOTH to sound good. The problem is that Kahn (other than supposively "bringing up Mannys speed") didn't really have any business sparring with Manny. He's nothing like Margarito (slow), and Manny (southpaw) is nothing like Maidana.
Roach put himself in to a predictament by having them train and spar together.... he needs them both to sound like beasts.
I thought it was more telling from Kahns reaction to what Roach said ("I'm sure he was taking it easy on me") then anything else, and the stars in his eyes returning from the Phillipines. He idolizes Pac.
One thing for certain is that Kahn knows without a doubt that he needs to beat Maidana in order to begin achieving the super star status (world wide) that he seems to crave so much.
Side note: BTW, it is interesting that Manny was no where around in that airport when Roach made that statement. I'm sure there's probably a clip somewhere with Manny coming off his plane with Roach near by saying "MANNY IS KINGGGG OOOFFFF THHHHEEE WORLLLLLDD!"

from where im standing when khan said manny may have been taking it easy looks to me like khan was just being humble.. he had the smile of a man that may have given paq a bit of a beating and was just being humble enough to say it was just sparring etc..you have to remember mannies fans are all around khan and khan wouldnt be disrespectful enough to be shouting out how he beat the pacman in the middle of 1000 pac fans as its simply rude and wouldnt do his rep much good with the philipno fans, plus you dont **** on your own door step.. its clear he was just being humble to it and that it is true but im sure there were points in it where manny was giving khan hell too as there isnt a day where pac will take a beating from somone and not give some back hence how a report also said that manny rocked khan in the last 30 seconds.. sounds like pretty even good sparring which is the whole point, 2 world champs sparring is always going to be interesting as both will be at the top of the game and wanting to show they are bad boys.
in regards to you saying paq was no where around when roach said it well it looked like khan was no where around either.. they were both walking around taking pics for the fansComment
