one reason is because their promoters don't actually promote.

      Dude has 39 fights.

29 of them have been by KO.

He comes to fight. He doesnt take a backwards step and he doesnt duck fighters and he doesnt duck certain style of fighters like the "popular" fighters today. Hes a great fighter and all the idiots who dont follow him are missing out.
The casual fan is what's keeping Boxing alive right now..99% of people here call themselves "Hardcores" yet when a great card like the one with Mosley-Mora was made ..80% of people here streamed or DL'd the fight..

And yea Paul Williams has put people out..but not in a devastating manner..if all his KO's were Kolle or Quintanaish he'd be a draw..but he does that every so often..and like I said before when people see fights like Verno Phillips or Sharmba Mitchell, even Quintana it just looks like a freak show..a circus act..

People think Berto is protected, overrated.

        Williams:

All I can say is that Williams is hated on by Floyd haters. Why? I dont know.

It's ALL about marketing. Look at Canelo...a 20 yr old with nothing special on his resume could sell out the Staples Center (21,000 seats) on Mexican independence day with a g*ddamn sparring session. now THAT'S what you call promoting a fighter.
There's a big difference here......Canelo is Mexican. It's a lot easier to promote and make a Latino fighter popular because of the loyal latino fanbase. If Canelo was a black American there's no way he'd have this support, and only hardcore fans would know his name. Someone like Paul Williams would've had a huge fanbase with tons and tons of people coming out to support him had he been Mexican or Puerto Rican.

I think Berto has been babied by hbo!!He shouldn't have come away with more than a draw over Collazo & it seems to me that he keeps trying to fight 140lbers!!

Now as the Punisher's biggest fan,I simply don't have a clue, people continuosly say that he should be at 168,but how many 168lbers can make 147,none can!!The Punisher traverses between 3 weight classes trying to fight the elite, but we know how that ends,he throws a ton of punches & always comes to fight!!I admit he seems to want to price himself out on occasion, but that's becoming the trend right now & it's all started by boxing's 2 biggest divas!!Because seriously,if I was a top fighter at 154 & 2 newcomers with no credential simply touch down and are fighting for titles in the weightclass I've dogged & sweated in,I'd be 1 pissed off dude!!I support the Punisher because I believe that he's a good guy that really loves the sport & wants the fans to be happy!!

Paul williams has an akward style that isn't pleasant to watch he slaps on most of his punches
And has no knockout power , he's not a big personality and is sort of soft spoken.
Hence makes a dull tall fighter that is boring and isn't great at any paticular thing in the ring.

As for berto he is a boxer who HBO hyped up too much for his own good and isn't living up to all the great expectation, he's fighter sub par competition and not taking them out in spectacular fashion

                  IMO:
PW has been promoted and managed very poorly and most hardcore fans are waiting for him to stop running in plastics all year to make smaller weights. We are waiting for the other cojon to drop and start fighting in his division, the middleweight or higher divisions. He has been managed with fear and that brings me to Berto.
Who could of been a contender if they start facing his weaknesses and stop fighting nobodies.
He like Williams give the impression of being protected by their management and unable to face the top fighters in their division.

Bingo. The exception to this is Goossen's ability to pique interest on the Left Coast for his fighters that are actually based out of that area.

Beyond that, DiBella and Goossen are basically play toys for Haymon. He tells them when his kids need to fight, and they lay in the cut, pretending to be promoters.

                      Berto is not that good.

Paul WIlliams should be in a higher weight class. i believe he can fight in a super middleweight but choose to fight guys smaller that him and stays in a lower weight.
