Vitali Klitschko Vs. Chris Arreola
Arreola shows up in this fight with a good attitude, and in lighter shape than his past 3 fights. Vitali looks better than he has in any other fight I have reviewed.
Round 1
Arreola comes out aggressively but Klitschko simply moves away, jabs, and strikes. Arreola did not land one punch that entire round, even his jabs were off. He cannot time Klitschko or keep up with his head movement. Klitschko counters Arreola's aggression with his own higher intensity punching, completely neutralizing Arreola. All Arreola manages to do this round is waste energy. Good boxing from Vitali, Arreola looks like he will be totally outclassed as I expected.
Round 2
This fight is seriously shaping up. Arreola clearly wants this title, he is aggressive and going after his man. Arreola is not punching when he moves forward, and is not jabbing as he comes in. As he moves in Klitschko simply moves his head, takes a step back and counters, 3 to Arreolas 1. A great round that goes to Vitali for good ring generalship, great boxing abilities, and deffinently the cleaner more effective blows. This is a helluva fight! Vitali breathing very heavily in the corner but is the better aggressor so far!
Round 3
Klitschko controlling the pace now. Arreola seems to realize that his aggression is just hurting him now. Arreola still in the fight, but lands few shots and has virtually no offense or defense here except coming forward, no jabs, no nothing, Vitali has completely neutralized him! The difference in class is obvious. Vitali has established his jab, I say that it is all down hill for the slowing Arreola now.
PS Chris Arreola's wife looks like a ******
Round 4
This is the kind of fight noone can complain about! Arreola may not be pretty, he may not have much in the skills department, but this guy has guts. Arreola wins round 4 on aggression and punches landed, some great counters from Vitali however. Vitali demonstrating a lack of ability to punch moving away again, but it doesn't matter. Arreola has to move forward at such a awkward rate that he cannot put a solid shot down the pipe. Great fight from both fighters! This is the only round I score for Arreola so far.
Round 5
Yet another action packed round! These guys are throwing it all in! Arreola still showing serious guts, coming forward and pressuring Vitali. Vitali is making him look like a amateur at this point, beautiful counter punching. It seems now that Vitali is moving backwards on purpose, getting Arreola to follow him and landing on him mid stride! Amazing work!
Rounds 6 and 7
Good rounds for Vitali, continuing to control the fight, the distance, and Arreola with straight shots
Round 8
A tough one to call! Amazing round. Could go either way, Arreola for aggression and solid punches landed, or Vitali for defense and short jabs. I give it to Vitali, he seemed to land more shots and seems to be in control of the round.
Round 9
Holy ****, this is what a championship fight is supposed to be! What guts from Arreola, and what skill from Vitali! That round goes to Vitali, I think Arreola either took a breather or is starting to slow, his face is a red mess. The distance is once again apparent between the two as Vitali controls the fight, but this is a war! Arreola is reduced to blindly throwing shots after Vitali strikes, which he obviously misses. Vitali does not put much of anything in his shots, he may not have any real heavyweight power but the number, angles, and accuracy of these shots is impressive!
This was easily the toughest match of Vitali's career, easily. Arreola has a serious pair of brass balls, he didn't stop fighting or show a single sign of discouragement throughout the entire bout. Vitali put on the best showing in his entire career here, deffinently. His skill is equal to Arreola's balls man!
How does noone ever mention a fight like this? This was a must see, easily one of the best fights of recent years in any division! Vitali Klitschko boring? My ass, he has shown no hint of being boring throughout all of the reviews I have seen. If the fight is boring, it is obviously the opponents fault, as 90% of them just fold up and eat the shots all night long because they are just bums, not this Arreola guy, he took it to the champion! I think a rematch would be golden! That was a championship fight, from the heavyweight champion of the world!
