The muscle loss slowed him down a level, hopfully he has recoverd, yeah Tarver beat him the 1st time but there is no way anyone can say Jones was prepared for Johnson, he looked skinny and pale, just not good, i hope he knows what hes doing.

If anyone here thinks he's going to be as fast as he was, they're in for a rude awakening. I already know he's not going to be as fast as he use to be, what I don't know is if he can modify the way he fights from now one to make up for his fading speed.

I think Roy will and can be almostas fast as he once was.

I don't think so. I don't think Roy will ever be fast as he once was, but I still think his handspeed and mobility is faster than 95% of the current lightheavyweights and middleweights. I think Roy is gonna come with more of a fundamental approach and use his superior speed and mobility as more of a "helping hand" to his fundamental approach. Sorta like Floyd Mayweather Jr right now.

i definitly agree. rjj is a great athelete, the only thing stopping him are mental/emotional problems. he can come back pyhsiclly, but it is alot tougher to come back mentally, e****ially from someone who knocked your ass out...

I'm definitely a Rj Jr fan. I believe this fight i think RJ will win by either by Unanimous Decision. I dont think there will be a knockout. If Roy has his Stamina it will be no contest. Keep the fight in the Middle of the Ring he wins easily. But if he goes back to letting others have target practice on him by relaxing on the ropes then he will be pummeled again. I for one believe Roy Jones Jr on Oct 1 will reclaim his throne.

So he had to lose about 19 pounds of muscle...

I am not even close to a Jones fan, but that's the truth about it...that ****ed him up
Joe Calzaghe walks around at 180-190 and he never looks fat at all, so Joe has to lose that sort of weight for All of his fights! Chris Eubank had to lose 25lbs bodyweight in under seven days to fight Calzaghe. Heck, according to Billy Graham, Ricky Hatton weighed 200lbs on January 2nd. What about Jake LaMotta who was planning to fight at 175 before his first fight with Robinson.. he had to lose 30-35lbs for the Robinson fight in just a few weeks (and he beat Robinson!). Steve Collins won the Irish HEAVYWEIGHT amateur title (steroid junkie Roy Jones was a BANTAMWEIGHT in the amateurs), but Collins was a middleweight in the pro's.

Oh yeah and you freaking idiot Jujuy makes excuses when Toney lost to roy Jones. If you look at the professional part of boxing, excuses for losses because of conditioning problem is lame. You're a professional boxer which means you gotta be in condition, you are obligated to be on shape. Theres a reason why JujUy boyfriend is not as great as he should be.

James was weighing 220lbs just six weeks before fighting Jones at 168, that's 52lbs bodyweight he had to lose. No wonder James was a shadow of his former self that night and a passenger for 12 rounds, Jones was the one coming up in weight so he had all the advantages.
