Wlad, Vitali, Hearns, Ali, Holmes and Lennox are a good example of fighters who use their height and reach to their advantage.

Margarito does not use his height/reach to his advantage. His physique compared to his usual opponents doesn't exactly allow for that style to be effective. He doesn't exactly tower over the likes of Clottey, Cintron, Paul Williams, Mosley and Martinez.

That is what he brought to the table at WW. That is what made a lot of WW not dare to mention his name. throughout the years.

That is why he wasn't successful at the higher weights as he was at WW. Because, he didn't have the size nor strength advantage.

That is why I always prefered the WW Margarito>the JMW Margarito.

To say he didn't use these as tools is just insane.

Did he fight tall like a Klitschko? No he didn't. But, did he use his size and strength>WWs? Yes he did.
Lol are you just parroting the words of others, you can say he used his endurance to his advantage but he wasn't exactly feared at Welterweight ( Cintron, Clottey, Cotto, Mosley and Paul Williams).

In none of those fights did he use his reach to his advantage. Against Cotto ( the smaller man) he got his ears boxed off on the outside.

Can't take you seriously when you say Margarito wasn't feared at welterweight. You do realize Clottey and Williams were two guys people tried not to fight as well, which is why Margarito had fights with them, and Cotto and Mosley are two guys who avoid no one, which is why they fought Margarito?

Dude, Margarito spent years toiling in obscurity as a beltholder. Who was scared of him? The guy in your avatar for one, considering he retired rather than stick around to fight him.

If he was a big enough name he wouldn't have been toiling around in obscurity. It should be noted that when he developed a name the fights came, proving that its an issue of money, not fighters fearing him.

People throw that crap about x being feared by everyone in their division far too much.

The answer is simply yes & no!!Does Margarito use his height as an advantage,no,but his frame is physically large & built for toughness,Margarito is usually punching down & his opponents punching up!!Margarito uses his size to continually press forward & apply pressure,it's hard to keep someone that big off of U!!But he doesn't stay outside of the reach of smaller fighter though!!

Scared? Never said that, but avoided the hell out of him? Refused to say his name? You damn right they did.

Maybe you should of followed the WW division in the turn of the century a little bit more closely.
