Looked like a weird straight right to me, which I guess is like a jab... Ruiz caught Haye with two pretty awkward looking straight rights in that gif image. The first one clearly shows Haye falling back onto the ropes as if he would have been knockdown if the ropes weren't there.
Roy Jones (vs John Ruiz version) vs David Haye, who wins?

Haye doesnt have the reflexes, stamina, or displine to stick with a boxfest over 12 rounds... he better hope he knocks Roy out with a single shot, because he gets picked apart all night with 2003 Roy if he doesn't land the dream punch.Comment

Wonder what a prime John Ruiz would do to Haye... A shot one was able to land his jabs and straight rights on him and even knocked him down against the ropes. It would have been a knock-down if the ropes weren't there.Comment

rjj by decision or late stoppage....
its funny how people "mustve forgot" roy had a much better punch resistance back in '03 and before that....thats why its a shame roy's still fighting...people remember him for his glass jaw and inconsistent performances now instead of the great fighter he was...
haye wouldve landed some hard bombs on roy due to his deceptive speed and power but roy would typically counter everything haye threw (which isnt a whole lot) with 3 or 4 shots of his own...Comment

Obviously it was better than after a few ko/tko losses but we don't really know how good his chin ever really was because before he started to decline we never saw him take much punishment as he was the one dishing it all out.rjj by decision or late stoppage....
