First you argued about how anything less than a 24 day cutoff would seriously weaken Manny.
Then V-3 pointed out how Manny had his blood taken 19 days out before Clottey and you told him to show proof cuz you had been on vacay and it couldn't be true.
Once he showed you proof you said that Manny probably did the blood tests 19 days out just to see if he could handle it.
Then when someone pointed out to you that this blood test is given before every fight you disappeared.
I gotta hand it to you, bud. Manny should hire you for secret service because you would leap into a bullet for ol' boy.

Prefight, David Diaz seemed the easiest to take on, among the
champs in the division. In hindsight though, Casamayor was
already past it. Even the guy I had really wanted Pac to face,
Nate Campbell, later proved as much a flake as Joan Guzman.
Top Rank was no doubt pleased that it was David Diaz.
DelaHoya was a good gamble because of the catchweight, but
Pac's odds were made sure by dela Hoya himself, overtraining.
Bottom line was, the money involved was impossible to pass up,
and it was dela Hoya who called Pac out.
Ricky Hatton was an easy payday, even at 140. Good scalp on
paper, but I wish Pac had stayed at this weightclass and faced
the better talent. Mayweather however came out of retirement
and Pacquiao's mother collected on her son's promise to run for
Congress after one more fight.
Easy answer: fight Mayweather late 2009, then campaign for
Congressman from January 2010. Unfortunately, Mayweather
vs. JMM was delayed too late in the year, for Floyd to fight
again.
Pac's "one last fight" needed a dance partner.
I had wanted talks with Mosley resumed. Mosley personally had
asked Pac about it, but during preliminary talks wanted no title
staked unless at legal weight (rightly so!). Pacquiao had earlier
declared 'anyone up to 147', but come negotiation time, the
team's line was for a catchweight. I think things could have been
worked out, 'til Cotto threw a fit and looked to bolt to GBP: why
should the guy he had beat (Shane) get the Pacquiao payday?
Top Rank was not unhappy to keep it in-house, and so we had
Cotto vs. Pacquiao going into Christmas. Now, Cotto was a real
risk, even after the loss to Plasterito --you can check threads
from the months leading up to the fight, and a lot of the 'experts'
here who now dismiss Cotto as shot before Pac, were singing a
very different tune.
Praise for Pac's win was nearly unanimous in the brief weeks
afterward, until Floyd Sr. tossed out the PED accusations. I
think May vs. Pac could have been made, OST's and all, if Sr.
hadn't said what he said, in the MANNER in which he said it.
Asking for OST's is practically accusatory too, but it can be
done with respect. Getting a guy angry and then asking him to
agree to something you want, doesn't make sense.
Anyway, Pac won his seat in Congress, and his mama changed
her tune. Pac could now fight "a few more times". Mosley was
committed to fight Berto, Floyd was rumored to be fighting
Matthew Hatton, and Bob Arum kept things in-house by setting
up a fight with Clottey, who proved to be a worthless bitch.
David Diaz was perceived easiest champ of weightclass, but it
turned out, his peers weren't that good anymore either. Oscar
called Pac out, and meeting Pac halfway in weight wasn't THAT
bad an idea, until he overtrained. Cotto was a real opponent.
In hindsight two fights looked the easiest, and proved easiest:
Hatton was a husk, and Clottey was a waste of time.
Margarito was crap against Shane, and unimpressive in Mexico.
Whether or not he's gotten back in pre-Mosley form, this is a
shitty fight on principle. The guy should be banned for life, and
a title shot on his first fight back is ridiculous. Staking a vacant
title at anything other than the weightclass definition is simply
a big "fuck you" to boxing fans.Last edited by horge; 10-21-2010, 04:31 PM.

I agree both can be criticized about the competition neither wont. Floyd plays the villian so people treat him that way. Manny plays the hero so he is treated that way. superman lex luthor, batman the joker, goku vegeta, hulk hogan ric flair. Majority of the people fans whatever are puppets sheep and fall for whatever the media wants them to. Floyd and Manny are boxers with bosses and fight whoever makes sense at the time based on what they boss wants and whos available. Floyd may not have a up front promoter like manny has bob but he still answers to al haymon and golden boy.
Most people on here think its easy to set a multi million dollar fight as if it was two high school kids who want to fight at 3pm. and the only people involved are the two fighters themselves. The fact is all of Manny best wins are against top NAMED fighters comming off LOSES OR PAST THEIR BEST. but cant blame manny his job is to go in their and win. you want to blame someone for who he fights you blame the promoters you blame the networks you blame the counsils and organizations. the fighters just fight.
