Why are you guys askin' how can people hate on Floyd?

Weren't you the first guys to say that the "Bad Boy Persona" is all for show for him to hype himself up? Isn't that what made him the biggest PPV cashcow? Like what you guys always say?

If that's the case, isn't it that you people should know better why people hate on Floyd?

As for me, I always maintained that I always loved Floyd's skills as a boxer, not his ******ity. The villain persona was working for him to be the hatest boxer and people bit that and watched his fights because they want to see him lose, but he took it too far with all his personal probs with the law, and some ****** streaming videos depicting somewhat racist arse comments.

You guys all along said "The villain bad boy persona's just to hype himself up". So I don't know why guys whine about why people hate Floyd.

*****s like to ignore the intelligent posts, focus on the ******s(I guess because they can relate) and then they call us *******s.

Oh well. ******ity has been around for thousands of years, the only thing you can do is eliminate it in yourself, you can't do it for anybody else.

        • There's no denying Floyd's skill. The thing is God gave him such remarkable talent, but he doesnt use it for the fans. Hes quick enough to hit and not get hit, but he hardly throws combos and his punches are few and far between. Bottom line - its just boring to watch him.

Then you get people like Meldric Taylor and Pacquiao who are blessed with talent AND they fight for the fans. Imagine if Floyd fought with passion like they did, hed be knocking out all his opponents including Mosley and Marquez, but he chooses a safety first approach instead.

If Floyd fought with intensity Id be a fan of his, i wouldnt even care about the ****** things he says, but time after time his fights are just lackluster and lull me to sleep. I cant wait for Floyd and Pacquiao to fight because i believe the pacman will bring out the true greatness that floyd really has.

                • With all due respect Burner, it becomes increasingly difficult to LIKE Mayweather given the fact that he's pissed away his career with inactivity and now legal problems.

I think inside the ring he's a man to be respected. He honestly has all the skills to be the GOAT. But he does not have the desire to prove that to fans. He's satisfied with thinking he's the GOAT, without caring what anyone else thinks. On one hand that's respectable. Ali said he was the greatest early in his career and eventually he earned it. Floyd hasn't earned it yet.

So in response to your question, I'll ask another. How can anyone NOT hate on Mayweather?? As a person who liked it when Tiger Woods was dominating, I enjoy watching greatness before my eyes. Watching Floyd was like watching greatness, and it still is. But how can any fan of boxing look at Floyd's career and say "he did everything he could to be called "The Greatest"". That in itself is a dissappointment.

Think about it. Imagine if after becoming the best fighter in the world, Sugar Ray Robinson packed it in and became a part time fighter? Would we say he is the greatest? Would we praise him like we do today? No way. Boxing fans more than anything appreciate heart and will. Watching Arturo Gatti cringe after breaking his hand and then continuing on to fight and throw punches was incredible. Not because of the fight or the people or the titles involved, but because it was a display of heart and will and a desire to be great.

Floyd has always come up short of expectations. And to be clear, it's not because of his performances in the ring. Looking at his resume, there are not too many who can say they were better. It is all about expectations though. I see Floyd as someone who could've legitimately taken the throne as the GOAT. He never seemed to seriously pursue that once he reached the pinnacle of the sport.

And that is why he is hated and is seen as a dissappointment to many.
