Floyd comes off as a hoodlum, buffoon, racist criminal.
I'll continue to pray for the day he wakes up and realize that these babies admire him enough to immulate the actions and character he's saling them.....he is the MOST important boxer in the inner cities across the US....not B.Hop, Roy, P-Dub or anybody else...its Floyd!!....dude gotta use his popularity the right way and not the wrong way....he need to stop playing gangster rapper and misleading the youth who admire and adore him enough to dedicate their Saturday nights to him WHENEVER he fights....when Floyd fight, the hood is shut down.....Manny stops crime in his country....well Floyd does the same in the hood.....trust me!!....I go hard on dude because I know what affect he has on lil dudes like my nephew and even my 5 yr old lil man....any dude with a lil bit of wisdom about the urban inner city way of life know I'm right.....Bless!!Last edited by Mr. Philadel; 10-21-2010, 06:06 AM.

But look at it like this.
Floyd HAS to do that. It keeps his name buzzing. It made him a star.
Me and you are black. So lets start here name the last Black crossover boxing star.
I'll say it was Tyson. Who was worse than Floyd.
Then before that it was Leonard. Who was all smiles and kissing babies at his peak.
So basically the last popular black athlete that didnt have to act like an ass was SRL.
Look at guys like Winky, Roy, Shane Mosley, Hopkins, Holyfield, etc.
Those guys all had their time in the sun BUT they never became a BIGT crossover star like Floyd has.
Floyds star power is up there with Ali, Tyson and Oscar. If he was the choir boy type hed be Shane Mosley. Its just an act with Floyd. A lot of people dont realize that. He even said it himself.

Many people don't realize that a huge amount of income is based on the people that pay to watch and see if he'll lose. Every time he fights, it's not a fight, it's an event no matter who it is. People need to see that the more he trashtalks, the more people talk about him.
I guarantee you that if the press would stop calling him "ducker" or "chicken" and stopped writing about him altogether...he'd have next to no press, because all people ever talk about when it comes to Floyd is him and Pacquiao (at this point).
If the media keeps its eyes on Floyd, Floyd will put on a show, plain and simple.
Floyd's persona as a villain is not people hate, it's what people love to hate.
If Floyd's lashed out at the public, it's because the disrespect involved in it. Ever since he left Arum, it's been one mess after another. Here's what the public said in a nutshell about each of his last 5 fights:
Baldomir= no KO power, one dimensional.
Oscar= money fight, it was boring.
Hatton= too small, no skills.
Márquez= got skills, but size discrepancy too wide.
Mosley= shot, over the hill.
Out of the past four fights, the ones in which I can agree 100% on with the public is the Márquez fight. Yes, he was a top 3 pound for pound at the time. Yes, he was coming off two TKO wins against highly regarded lightweights, but as Larry Merchant said, "The fight was over from the day Márquez signed the contract."
I've said it numerous times before (honestly) and I'll say it again: Floyd will always have critics no matter what he does. He never gets full credit for anything he does. Why would he want to appease the media (who disrespects him) by fighting Pacquiao, a legitimate threat who, by fight night, people will ready their excuses as to why Pacquiao lost after the fight (should he lose). It's a lose-lose situation.
After the Margarito fight, people were savoring the thought of Mosley fighting Mayweather. The contracts were signed, and the salivating began. When the fight was a month away, suddenly Mosley was old, shot, and one dimensional. Floyd had suddenly cherry-picked, "as he always does."
Gimme a break.

Great fighter but add 2 vacations to his resume, 1st one at WW when cotto, williams, cheato and mosley were all looking to fight him in 2007 and now this even more mysterious one when it looks like pac has agreed to most/all of his demands and hes off again!!
