Don't talk to me like I'm a child and I don't understand the game. I understand why he fought that way. I know more than you about this sport so don't bother my friend. My point is he's a stinker himself. So your telling me you knew his gameplan before the fight and you were totally entertained? Hopkins would've always had problems with Calzaghe.

Everyone comes to win fool
LOL sure dude.
Who said it's respectable? Hopkins acted way to much against Jones and it was unnessary as he was easily winning the fight. Hopkins admitted he was catching a breather. Is it right? Nope. I think it's just because hopkins is old and gets fatigued and does what he can to get some rest.
What you're doing though is picking things on what hopkins has done recently, as an old man, and lump that over his entire career. Did you even watch hopkins in his prime? He destroyed opponents other than Roy Jones. He was offensive minded.
You obviously didn't even catch this because I did exactly what you were doing - I picked the KO losses from Wlad EARLIER in his career, when he wasn't prime. Is that fair on Wlad? Nope but I'm using your logic. Hopkins is not prime, he hasn't been prime for a long time now. When he lost to taylor, he was already 40 years old. He's not the same fighter as he was in his prime, NOR is Wlad the same fighter that he was back then (he's improved).
I didn't say ***** about Wlad other than him getting KO'd and he shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Hopkins when it comes to legacy/resumes.
i don't see why hopkins gets a pass because he's 46 years old....if he's still fighting top fighters, then there should be no excuse if he's loses...Comment

Yes I knew his gameplan because hopkins TOLD EVERYONE his gameplan before the fight even happened. He said his plan was to take joe's best weapon (his work-rate) and cut it in half. And that's exactly what he attempted to do by slowing down the pace, clinching, etc.Don't talk to me like I'm a child and I don't understand the game. I understand why he fought that way. Who the hell said anything about entertainment? I said specifically that the fight was ugly but it was the correct strategy to beat calzaghe at this point. At 43 years of age, you cannot expect Hopkins to fight calzaghe like he did glen johnson. He's too old, he doesn't have the stamina to throw 80+ punches per round like he did back then. The goal for hopkins was to win, not to look pretty.Comment

Classic Hopkins playing the victim to invoke pity from hbo and the fans. If he can't take the heat, gtfo.
We're not interested in his excuses as to why his fights suck.Comment

if he's too old and ain't got no stamina, why is he still fighting top competition...he never had 1 punch ko power, so why does he think a judge is gonna award him a decision in a fight where he doesn't throw much and lands so few...Comment

Well than he should'nt be fighting than if he's too old. It was'nt te correct strategy because he did'nt win. If you can't compete without clinching or falling down for no apparent reason then you should'nt be fighting. Hopkins has always been clowning around like that. Even in his early career. I have his whole entire career on DVD and I've been following his career since I was 11 years old. I think I know what I'm talking about. You butt your way into a conversation just to act like you know some ****. When in reality I know everything you know and more. You sittin here trying to give some facts and trying to be some wise man of boxing. Boxing is'nt that complicated man. Most of the time it is what it is.Yes I knew his gameplan because hopkins TOLD EVERYONE his gameplan before the fight even happened. He said his plan was to take joe's best weapon (his work-rate) and cut it in half. And that's exactly what he attempted to do by slowing down the pace, clinching, etc.

yes, that makes perfect sense. Since hopkins is fighting elite fighters, his age isn't a factor.
So because Ali was fighting elite fighters in Larry Holmes and Leon Spinks, Ali's age was not a factor in his performances.
Because Sugar Ray Leonard was fighting elite fighters in Terry Norris and Hector Camacho, his age was not a factor in his performances.
Your logic does not compute.Comment

He probably shouldn't be fighting but like most fighters, they continue to fight past there primes. Ali, Leonard, Hearns, Duran, Holyfield, Tyson, Roy Jones, James Toney, etc etc etc etc., almost all of them continue to fight past their best days.
Yes it was the correct strategy because he almost won. If he would have had more stamina in the late rounds and threw more punches he would have got the victory. He physically couldn't do it though. It was'nt te correct strategy because he did'nt win.
Same here I have his entire career on DVD. Hopkins used to destroy his opponents in his prime. You can put in one of those old DVD's and watch how differently hopkins fought today. If you can't compete without clinching or falling down for no apparent reason then you should'nt be fighting. Hopkins has always been clowning around like that. Even in his early career. I have his whole entire career on DVD and I've been following his career since I was 11 years old.
Sure he used some dirty tactics in some of his fights, but he was much more offensive minded and threw a lot more punches.
lol stfu you ginger fuuck. You know everything I know and more? When in reality I know everything you know and more.
