I've been calling for that fight for 2 years, but Berto never listened when Clottey was calling for him... Maybe too tough of a fight for him... Too late now as Josh is fighting at his more natural 154-160...

What does looking like junk against Clottey do for Berto (even if he can win it by just out hustling CLottey) or for HBO.

Probably because Berto is steered away from any challenge whatsoever.
Maybe they will put him in with Agbeko

People complain that Berto is not well known and he can't draw rating, news flash Clottey isn't getting him there either unless he can look great against him and who exactly has looked great against Clottey.


Looking impressive always trumps beating a more challenging opponent but in a much less entertaining fahsion, in terms of drawing power. Berto needs to do his thing right now and Clottey is certainly not the guy to help him with that (not to mention he will not come cheap).

So why spend all that money for a fight that will really do nothing for you?
