Hence the reason he has been avoiding them and picking on unathletic guys or old men.

The last athletic black man Hopkins fought was Jermain Taylor... and that was 5 years ago.

The last guy with hand-speed Hopkins fought was Calzaghe.

Hopkins, at his age, counts on the his awkwardness to win fights.

Pascal is a beast. He won't be afraid to let his hands go and win this fight on activity. Not to mention the fact that Hopkins looked ABYSMAL against RJJ....
aka - every time hopkins fights an equally sized, equally talented fighter, he loses....

i knew it wouldn't be long for nasa to pull out the hopkins is 46 (old) excuse....

of course he's gonna make it an ugly fight...for about 9 rounds he isn't gonna punch, just hold and grab....from 10 - 12, he's gonna hold, grab, and land one punch each round, avoid getting ko'd, and swear he won the fight...this is when he usually starts pointing the finger at hbo, the man, corrupt judges, the prison guards, etc.

so being 46 and way past prime isn't an excuse? Ok, I guess Sugar Ray Leonard lost to Hector Camacho in his prime. Ali lost to Trevor Berbick in his prime. etc

Bernard is a tough night's work for anybody. Even at his advanced age. That being said, Pascal is just too much for him. I don't think he gets KO'd/TKO'd, but I think he'll lose a wide UD. Pascal's workrate will just be too much for him to overcome.

oh so now hopkins is "way past prime?"...this is the same hopkins who looked like ali against pavlik, and beat ornealus (sp) and jones? secondzout just claimed on this very thread that hopkins hasn't really lost a fight since jones in '93....

srl and ali had legit excuses for being old...srl lost to camacho after norris had ruined him, ali lost to berbick after larry holmes ruined him...nobody has done that to hopkins yet, we waiting to see if pascal can ruin him for good...

That was in 2008 genius. You do know there is a huge difference between 43 and 46 right? It's not the same as 27 and 30...

and beat ornealus (sp) and jones?
And how did hopkins look in those fights? Did he look like the same guy that beat Pavlik? NOPE

srl and ali had legit excuses for being old...
Even though Hopkins is OLDER then they were?!? come on now!

What 46 year old fighter(s) still look as good at 46?

You are a complete moron if you think 46 year old hopkins is just as good as he was against pavlik or prior...
