The last athletic black man Hopkins fought was Jermain Taylor... and that was 5 years ago.

The last guy with hand-speed Hopkins fought was Calzaghe.

Hopkins, at his age, counts on the his awkwardness to win fights.

Pascal is a beast. He won't be afraid to let his hands go and win this fight on activity. Not to mention the fact that Hopkins looked ABYSMAL against RJJ....

This comparison has so many holes,I don't know where to start.
First off,Pascal doesn't have the same speed, activity/ workrate or punch output that Calzaghe had and doesn't fight toe-to-toe, pumping out a jab,etc like Taylor did.
Pascal gasses out at least as bad as a 45 year old Hopkins and attempts to pace himself while doing his "ring around the rosies" dance around the ring....this will not tire out Hopkins as much as it will himself.

If Hopkins has anything left,he will beat Pascal in an ugly fight.Pascal isn't dealing with a guy who stands mobile in the center of the ring spacing out.Just remember,when was the last time Hopkins signed a fight this quick (the Pavlik fight-and this is not a comparison of styles,but a comparison of how Hopkins has seen something easy to exploit in his opponents)?

He sees something in Pascal that is there to be exploited- his timing,his lack of defense,his stamina, he cannot fight backing up, and his repetitious style.Don't be surprised to see Hopkins looking good for this fight....and hopefully he will retire on a high note!

but he has to lose so bad he will retire afterwards, his fight with Roy Jones was so awful and terrible to watch i couldnt stand it. he has had a great career but now he has to resort to dirty tactics to beat a shot to hell Roy Jones..

Pascal fights in burst and most of the time has his mouth open. He will fight the pace that favors Hopkins. If Benard is ready and father time hasn't caught up to him I expect him to win a very boring fight

As much as I hate him, B-hop is a VERY smart guy and certainly knows his limitations. If he didn't think that he had AT LEAST a 45-50% chance of winning the fight or at least drawing, he'd not have taken the fight.

guys like Glen Johnson and Benard Hopkins...age really don't mean **** when it comes to them, those guys are throwbacks, old school warriors, you might get a win over them but it won't come easy, I think Hopkins can beat Pascal but I could also see Pascal getting a controversial win by decision especially in Canada
