Just how it is. I wouldnt isolate Bute from this observation.

And really he made a mandatory defense most 168 guys are tied up. Im not so quick to judge. Really all the Ward nuthugging he only beat 1 highly regarded fighter in Kessler...cmon people. Jumping to conclusions too quick.
    agreed

The only who can beat easy against Bute is Ward. The others SMW Froch, AA, Kessler, Dirrell have chance but are not easy fights

Bute is the class of the division until andre ward proves otherwise

he knocked brinkley out plenty of times in that fight

the ref extended every second of the count habitually and made a routine of leading brinkley back to his corner for a break

i dont know where the **** they get the refs for canadian fights but they've ranged from corrupt to retarted

he's knocking dudes out and looking spectacular until a big money fight comes around
if the super six never came about he'd be the guy all the smw's would call out for an hbo payday

and he'd starch a lot of those guys too

the only legit knock on bute is that he was virtually out against andrade and could have easily lost via ko if the ref wasnt either corrupt or insane
and we know how the rematch went

          Ward is an A-level fighter.

He finally took Brinkley out but this fight showed where he shakes out against the other top super middle weights of the world, and its not good.

To me he is beaten by Andre Ward easily, Mikkel Kessler easily, Carl Froch easily and crushed by The King Arthur Abraham. If he fights Pavlik and Pavlik looks good in his comeback fight against Vera I think Pavlik will brutalize him as well. Really thought this kid was something but now I think he has just been matched very very carefully and shined when in with B level fighters.
I gotta disagree with you. Bute looked comfortable and confident the whole fight. Maybe I gotta watch the fight again, but I don't remember Bute having any trouble letting his hands go.

Look at the top guys and they have all proven themselves against extremely high level competition. The best fighter Bute has fought was Andrade, up until 2 years ago I loved watchin that dude fight but even before he fought Bute he had taken far too many punches.

I guess to clarify my point a bit. Bute is good but until he fights a top guy and shows just how good I consider him 2nd tier and all this talk about him being so great is just that, talk.

First turn off the commentary, what I saw was Brinkley, lead foot Brinkley, turning Bute and using head movement and surprisingly good boxing ability to make Bute fight his pace, slow with no action. Bute landed some ok shots but then again so did Brinkley. That pretty much sums up the first two rounds. The rest wasn't much different. My expectations were to see Bute steamroll the much smaller less talented Brinkley. What happened was Brinkley got hurt to the body, like he usually does then he folded.

He was fighting Jesse ****ing Brinkley. Do you know what Jesse Brinkley's best win is? Curtis ****ing Stevens.

Bute has had better fights. Not his best performance. I wouldn't judge him just on that one fight though. We'll see how good he is when he steps in with some of the better guys, but he's been looking good lately.

                      You're moronic.

He didn't struggle whatsoever. What he did was carry Brinkley in order to give the paying fans a bit of a show.

He could've ended Brinkley whenever he wanted to. He toyed with him easily.

Quit the sport. You know nothing.
