Comments Thread For: Lucian Bute, Kelly Pavlik Could Be on a Collision Course

MONTREAL — After Lucian Bute beat a mandatory challenger who was a little tougher than expected, before a crowd that was slightly smaller than expected, the unbeaten Bute and his handlers gladly talked about the fight they all want to bring to Bell Centre.

Bute fights in Montreal because fans fill the arena. In USA sometime they fight in front of 800 poeple. In Quebec it's always a great succes.
What would you do as a business man?
If you think that Bute is fighting bums, with Pavlik it will be another one.
Kelly got seriously beaten by a 154 pounder.
Bute will knock him out like all the others.
How the media would treat Bute if he was american?
Great skill, power, personality, good looking, the best in the 168. So Jono Young ....

Would be a good fight. The sad part is that Pavlik would be the best name on Bute's resume cause he keeps fighting less then stellar opposition.

Ducked a fight with his countryman for a legit championship to fight this joker. Sad, just sad. I don't see how Bute fans continue to support his career path.

There are a couple of inaccurate statements in this article:

                  1) Pavlik did not cancel the Williams fight. He asked for a second postponement. We can't blame Paul for saying "no," but don't get it twisted. PDub walked away, not Kelly. Pavlik tried to make the fight again in April, but Goosen demaded a 50/50 co-promotion. Goosen had to know his demand would kill the fight.

                  2) Pavlik passed on the rematch with Martinez over weight issues, and for NO OTHER REASON.

I'm kind of surprised that Boxing Scene would post an article containing those errors. All of the information I just layed out appeared in feature articles on this site.
