The fight will be a flop if this fight does not sell more than Mosley vs. Mayweather.

Marquez was a 37 year old current lightweight/career featherweight. Stop it.

How do you figure? In terms of $, Mayweather-Mosley was the most hyped fight ever. Schaefer went so far as to claim it would do 3-4 million buys It was a fight that people had been clamoring for going on a decade, two American fighters, which is big.

Pacquiao-Margarito is a fight between two foreign non-English speakers, a matchup that has been talked about only theoretically since maybe last year. Don't see how doing less would constitute a flop, especially since it's extremely rare that any PPV gets above the 1 million mark in the first place.

I don't care about the numbers. As long as it's a murder/massacre then it's a great fight. This is boxing and not touch and go.

This is the key right here in understanding why this could be potential
blockbuster. A great drama is unfolding. People would be curious
to know how it will all end.

Pacquiao - Margarito will have a 24/7 and its without a doubt the biggest fight for the rest of the year and nothing even comes close.

People buy ppvs cause they wanna see someone get ktfo, there is a very good chance of that happening on this ppv

Boxing fans are starving for a big fight, so I expect this fight to do very well. They were lucky to be a few weeks clear of the Lesnar-Velazquez UFC match, which will be a big seller. Arum's prediction sounds very realistic to me. Actually I would bet the overs on it.

If this does less than 1.4M, it's an embarrassment.

This fight will be very competetive fool! Marg is the same guy that Floyd ducked. This man aint no slouch. I know you don't know anything other than what is going on with Floyd but come on man. People use this to discredit Pacquiao. Does someone else deserve the fight? Probably but that does'nt mean it's a walk in the park. I can't stand idiots who don't understand boxing. Why do you come on this site? Pacquiao will have enough to worry about just from the strength and size of Margarito. If the Margarito that everyone used to fear shows up than we have a good fight on our hands.
