^^^^this. People confuse shot and being past your prime all the time, hell, I do it too sometimes.

Well, he's obviously not in his prime but I'm expecting to see a very determined Margarito against Pacquiao. His manager said that Margarito has himself to blame for the lackluster performance against Mosley, due to having weight issues. From what I've heard...everything seems to be going fine in his camp. Rios was was even quoted as saying that Margarito should be a marathon runner because of how much he runs. If he's able to have the same conditioning he had against both Cotto and Clottey/ atleast 75% of that durability...then we're gonna see a good/ competitive fight.

if you actually follow the sport you will know that even past prime fighters pull together great fights or find a matchup that makes them look better than what they have left

Manny vs Morales is a perfect example of the first and Mosley vs Margarito the second statement
Not saying he'll be prime, I'm just asking a question. Just that this whole being 'shot' talk sometimes comes out of nowhere during conversations. I see it as two things: being technically prime and physically prime. Many people say Manny is prime, but I'd say technically he is, but physically not at all, and this is when you can consider age, since Manny is dependent on his speed. This is same for Floyd, he's obviously not prime physically but you can't get any better than his technical skills.

I would agree with that.. same for Bhop... far from prime physically but his skills keep him in the game.. along with excessive clinching and 5 minute timeouts...
