Dont believe this rubbish.Hatton knew he wasnt invincible that's why he avoided certain fighters,he had been knocked out by Mayweather already and Lazcano nearly knocked him out.Seems like a sympathy card to me.Hatton has always drunk like the drunk he is,only reason he probably wasnt taking ******* was because he was scared of the urine tests.Once he knew he had retired there was no fear and he became himself.

How many guys in this sport have the charisma and personality to not take themselves too seriously and actually go with the flow of a joke and enter a ring walk in a fat suit? To have the following Rick had with the brass band and his own song by the fans etc., I wish this guy nothing but the best in getting those demons exercised. This guy could and will be a great ambassador for the sweet science if he can get back on the wagon and focus his efforts on either his promotional company or hell even try his hand as a chief second. Because if Freddie Roach has taught us anything, you didn't have to be the purest of boxers while fighting to know what needs to be done in teaching and coaching up young talent as a trainer. Everybody knows the WHITE man is never the same after losing to a ni**a. Lets keep it real. Hatton probably is suffering after the Pac lost because that was his last big fight on the big screen. But losing your "0" by knock out is way worst the first time then the second...

At least Ricky Hatton had the balls to step into the ring with Manny Pacquiao...unlike some people who go on vacation to beat up his baby's mama, steal and threaten his own kids with bodily harm should they call the police for help.

I think the loss to Mayweather may not have affected him too much because he was fighting out of his weight class and almost survived the entire fight. However, against Pacquiao, he was fighting at his optimum weight and got stomped brutally. There is a big difference between the two....

There's only one person to be blamed for this - Floyd Mayweather Sr. He trained the dude so incorrectly.

Sorry, though I hate Floyd Sr so much, he gave Hatton the game plan for Pacquiao. It was Hatton who didn't follow it. I hate Floyd Sr. and the Mayweather Clan; but it was Hatton who didn't follow the fight plan. Like Tyson said, "Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the mouth."

I can see why some would rather vacation than fight him, it's a long road to recovery filled with alcoholism and depression. They should start calling his left hand the 'travel agent', thing sends people on long vacations

On a serious note though, hope Hatton can find peace and defeat his demons. There is no shame in losing to an ATG.
