Wilder is at last stepping up a bit. He has been fighting some bad opponents although you cant really blame him to much with such little amateur experince, but he is now fighting a journeyman Harold Sconiers who has a record of 17 wins 20 losses and 2 draws, much better than his first 12 fights.

Wilder is very inexperienced for how good he is, not only a short amateur career but the kid has only been boxing or like 4 years now. For all of his ability I think its a good idea to bring him along slowly. Word has it he has a great work ethic and love for the sport, he should develop into a very good Pro if they move him along accordingly.Comment

He's badly managed.Wilder is at last stepping up a bit. I mean,he's always fighting short chinny bums,he comes in here and they fall after the first punch,he hasn't learned **** in his 12 previous fight except executing a very weak opponent.
He needs to fight a guy who will give him some rounds...He needs rounds.
If I was his manager,I would look for some weak opposition, but guys that can stay on their feet when they get hit.
The US HW division is enough weak like that,he needs to step up,hopefully this Sconiers 20 losses aren't 20 ko losses,or the guy will again hit the canevas after the first punch and again Wilder will learn nuthing.Comment

I agree with Billy, Wilder does need to be brought along slowly, however he needs guys who will be durable and skilled enough to give him a good few rounds.
Hopefully he doesn't fall into the pattern of knocking out an array of really **** fighters, and then getting fed to a Klitschko. Cause he has the tools to go all the way.Comment

7 of his 20 defeats come by knockout, its a step in the right direction hopefully this is the first move into getting him some better fights. He's badly managed.

His opponents are pretty weak, but it's okay as long as he gets good sparring partners and disciplined trainers. After another year or 15-20 wins, match Wilder against some top 100 veterans or other young fighters with unblemished records.Comment

Well it looks like Wilder did step up, he put the guy down twice in the first round but was knocked down him self in the 2nd before Wilder scored a KO in the 4th. It doesn’t look to good for his chin although plenty of top fighters were put down early in the careers so its not the end of the world for him, these sort of fights are what he needs. He does have big power in his right hand and some talent but obv he needs to work on his defence if his chin isn’t the best. Wilder now needs more fights like this.Comment
