Well theres also Bika....Ward is carving out a nice career beating Joe's opposition years after he has beat them. Good on him.

Only other reason I can think is that he's doing it out of his back yard...except Joe did that, too. But Ward is, and will be, taking on generally stiffer comp than at an equivalent stage of Joe's career.

The problem with the tournament now is that it will fail miserably in its overall goal....which was to find the best super-middleweight in the world.

Say Ward wins it. He still wont be able to claim that. Because then there'll be Dirrell, Kessler and Bute who will all have a claim. So we're back to the 4 champions scenario in a way. The fights are good but the tourney has failed.

Skills wise Ward is waaayy above Bika. The only area where they are equal on paper is on the fouling, but that wont matter as Ward has homefield.

ward and dirrell made a joke out of Showtime and their tournament trying to run the thing and tell Showtime who tehy would fight and where to fight. Showtime called their bluff since they have no fan base or following. two losers ward and crying dirrell. let them die.

If Ward wins it (most likely to happen)

Why would he have to fight Kessler when he allready beat him badly?

Dirrel better not fight for the next 2 or so years or his sudden injury will look very fishy.

Only one he would have to face is Bute but at the end of the day Bute has not done anything amazing either.
