Floyd was scared of the top 147 pounders, thats why he ran into retirement/vacation each time someone else dominated the 147 division.

I don't understand how you can come to that conclusion. Manny Pacquiao as it stands is the #1 fighter in the world with Floyd being #2, both are the biggest names in the sport, both stand to make the biggest purse in Boxing history along with hosting one of the biggest Boxing events in history. It's a huge win for either guy on the biggest stage of both of their careers.Last edited by RL_GMA; 10-12-2010, 02:31 PM.Comment

It might be a huge win for either guy but a vicotry over Floyd means more I mean they might have Pacquiao ranked #1 in a magazine but Floyd is reconigzed as the best fighter in the world by everyone and I just feel that a vicotry over Mayweather means more than a victory over Pacquiao just because of the fact that nobody has beat Floyd and Pacquiao has already been beat so it would be nothing newI don't understand how you can come to that conclusion. That's called assuming. Sugar Ray Robinson has several losses, yet he's still considered by many as the Greatest Fighter of All Time. In the end, it's who you fight, and Floyd more than any boxer is his era has been criticized heavily with his selection of opponents, not so much Pacquiao as he's fought guys not only most Boxing fans and critics never thought he'd fight, but he's already on his way to fighting a second fighter Floyd apparently never wanted anything to do with in their primes (Margarito, Cotto) be it money, popularity, or what have you. Rocky Marciano also retired undefeated, but he's also not revered as The Greatest Fighter of All Time let alone the Greatest Heavyweight. It might be a huge win for either guy but a vicotry over Floyd means more I mean they might have Pacquiao ranked #1 in a magazine but Floyd is reconigzed as the best fighter in the world by everyone and I just feel that a vicotry over Mayweather means more than a victory over Pacquiao just because of the fact that nobody has beat Floyd and Pacquiao has already been beat so it would be nothing new
Also, by the Logic you're using, Floyd's wins over Mosley, De La Hoya, JMM, Baldomir, Judah, Gatti, and a host of others mean very little since each of those fighters had losses when they fought Floyd. So basically, he hasn't fought anyone of merit in close to 6 years??? Well wait...there was undefeated Ricky Hatton!!Last edited by RL_GMA; 10-12-2010, 03:07 PM.Comment

There's nothing wrong with losing to either of those guys because both are great, but I think if people criticize Floyd in that way, it's because Floyd put himself in that predicament to be hated like that. He chose that role to sell tickets, but eventually it comes at a cost.
This is what I have been saying all along Floyd is the one that has everything to lose
It Pacquiao wins people are going to start calling him the GOAT but if Floyd wins people are going to say well he was suppose to win
Now if Floyd lose people are going to say Floyd was overated and try to downplay his legacy but if Pacquiao lose its gonna be ok because he PacquiaoComment
