  • Comments Thread For: Klitschko's Trainer: A Knockout of Briggs is Very Likely

Fritz Zdunek, trainer of the WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, expects challenger Shannon Briggs to be very dangerous in the first few rounds, but hopes Vitali will end the fight with a knockout on Saturday in Hamburg, Germany. Zdunek saw the impressive physical appearance of Briggs at Monday's final press conference. He was happy that Briggs took the fight serious.

Briggs won't be able to get away from Klitschko's right hand as the rounds go on, the accumulation of punches will make him go down IMO.

Briggs by UD. I see Klitschko folding. People forget when the fight gets tough Klitschko's fold. I'm a asthma sufferer so I have to go with my man

Asthma ain't no joke. My mom suffers from the same illness.

But I'm not sure Briggs can conquer his stamina problems and stuff, much less his lack of any real defense.

He needs a whole new plan of attack against Vitali who boxed Arreola's head off. Though, Shannon may be stronger.

I can agree with you, but it depends on how you can control it. I can play basketball for 4hrs in a day if I'm feeling well. I'm not betting, I'm just going with being the spoiler. I think skillfully Klitschko is better, but they are quitters with perfect health. So I hope Briggs can make it rough and if so, he wins by Klitschko folding.

Does anyone know how to catch it online?

Klitschko SHOULD knock out Briggs. The man is old and asthmatic plus hasn't beat anyone good in years.

Anything less than a KO is embarrassing in my opinion.

Even though Briggs can be relatively boring to watch most of the time, I don't think you can really count him out.

Remember the Briggs/Liakhovich fight - Briggs was losing pretty much every round in a lackluster fight, but knocked Sergei out and on to the ringside table with only 1 second left in the 12th round. That was one of those "Damn, anything can happen in boxing" moments. Similar to the Bute/Andrade I fight in a lot of ways, except Bute got up. Had that fight had 5 more seconds I expect Andrade would have been the winner (by KO), even though he was outboxed throughout the entire 12 rounds.

Albeit 4 years and only 2 fights later, you just never know with Shannon.

The fact that the only thing you can find to bash the man with is a dislocated shoulder that happened in the distant past says it all. Some of you haters are nothing but reruns.
