I agree but he needs to ****in turn his punches over. He slaps too much.
Joan Guzman Couldv'e Been Great If Not For His Lack Of Discipline

But what bugged me was his not only weight issues, but Guzman's inactivity. He literally fought only once year at one point.
Good promoter and discipline is what he lacked. I also think he's just not passionate enough about boxing. I could be wrong, but inactivity and little commitment to make weight are signs of lacking interest.Comment

Could have, should have, would have, I agree. Never a fan of his, but he could been at least a top p4p fighter.

Guzman vs KobayashiComment

And that is exactly my point. We all know Guzman is past his prime. He still has some skills left and that is an attestment to his raw talent. Guzman will never regain his youth and the success he could have become.
But, in my opinion, Guzman had that raw talent that can't be taught. If he would've been focused, he could've gone very far in the sport.
And that is what I am trying to communicate.Comment

when people discuss the term intangibles this is exactly what they mean
you could have all the talent in the world but if you can't put it together then you are nothing more than the equivalent of a street baller, all the talent in the world but not the game to do anything about it.
Guzman was talented, he may still be for all I know or really care.
Every fighter goes through issues and adversity people really need to stop making excuses for this man he did all this to himself. Tragedy happens to everyone, does not mean it's an excuse to screw up yet to hear it most of you guys want to give Guzman a pass because of ti
he only has himself to blame for the sever underachievement that is his careerComment

Lets not forget that one of the main reasons he doesn't lose enough weight for fights is because he has low testosterone levels.Comment
