This difference is, nobody knew it was going to be as bad a match up. Nobody knew Marquez would be blown up and slow, and nobody knew Floyd would be as flawless even gaining a jab that he didn't used to have. It sounded like this, the guy that beat Pacquiao twice vs Pacquiao's potential rival. Nobody knew if the size would matter becuz Pacquiao had just moved up to welterweight from lightweight and he was successful doing it, and he wasn't the first one, so people figured he'd still be competitive at 147. And Mayweather was fighting straight out of 2 years of retirement, most boxers show at least a little ring rust. Marquez was the #2 P4P fighter in the world and he was just coming off of the fight of the year against Diaz. And let's not forget Mayweather wasn't trying to win any belts off of this cheap victory either.

U can compare that mood at the time to the mood people r giving Pacquiao-Margarito and you'll see the point.

Exactly, Pac's one of them. The era of intelligent boxers like De La Hoya, Mosley, Hopkins, etc must have spoiled some people.

How is a 5'11" guy versus a 5'6" guy not disadvantageous for the smaller fighter?

                  Margarito by KO11.

Because boxing doesnt have height classes.

And Margarito NEVER uses his height.

Never say never. If Margarito wants to win....he can....all he has to do is box Pac from a distance. It's all up to him.

Never about height? Ask Floyd why he doesn't want to fight Williams....and also the reason why Pac did not want to fight Yuri Foreman in the beginning. Height will always be an advantage. For this one....it's a very big gap in advantage.
