The whole Cintron thing left a sour taste in my mouth. I'm amazed this incident hasn't been looked into more closely, reeks of scandal and untold truths to me. (probably shouldn't suggest betting rings for legal reasons )

He claims to be the most avoided man in boxing....then tried to stay away from a Martinez rematch which was possibly his biggest fight out there...

thats enough reason for me to dislike him at the moment.

Paul Williams is not even remotly similar to Tommy Hearns. Yes there black, yes there tall, that doesnt mean they fight the same they fight totally different i am sick and tired of this comparison.

I'm on the fence with Paul, i enjoy his fights, but i wouldn't call myself a fan, but he gives anyone a competitive fight right now in my opinion.

He's a horrible fighter, thats my main reason. He's tall, has a long reach and has solid stamina, everything else about him is average at best. (you know what I'm sayin'?) He's tall as hell yet slouches down when he punches so much he almost loses his height advantage, he gets hit far too often and doesn't have the chin to take the Margarito approach.(you know what I'm sayin'?) He's the "most feared man in boxing" yet tried to everything he could to avoid Martinez in a rematch and he priced himself out of the Pavlik fight twice, then when Pavlik had a LEGIT reason to postone (albeit his 3rd time) Williams simply pulled out instead of waiting 1 or 2 more weeks for the fight. (you know what I'm sayin'?) I'm sorry but if you want to prove the best you take the hits before, during and AFTER the fight. (you know what I'm sayin'?)

I also hate that he ducked a Cintron rematch and that he thinks he only deserves big money fights even though nobody ever heard of him and he fought in front of 50 people in his last fight.

I dont dislike Williams once he gets in the ring, with exception of the Cintron fight he usually put it all on the line and fights like hell, not so talented but very entertaining to watch.

Thing is after Margarito beat Cotto, the Williams hype went over the limit...he suddenly was so great and only could be open to huge paydays it seemed.

Yes the Pavlik fight was screwed up yes ok boo Pavlik blah blah

Then he didnt want the match again when offered and that what makes him a hypocrite, the most feared man in boxing will not fight for the liner mw titles because he wants 50-50 with the current MW champ...yes that sounds like a throwback badass fighter sure

Then Martinez steps up (unlike Williams) and beats Pavlik..
Williams loses to Cintron..
Williams delays fighting Martinez as long as possible...and demands a goddamn catchweight.

I had gained respect for Williams over time but lost it this year. Still he is an entertaining fighter just hard to get a fight made with him.

I'm a big P-Will fan. I don't get why people knock on him for the whole weight and height issue. Aren't you supposed to try to make the lowest weight? If he makes weight, leave him alone, and who cares if he calls out May and Pac? They're the two best with the biggest money fights. I would do the same ****.
