Am I the only person in the world who thinks Cotto is done and his prime has passed? I dont really wanna see him fight Pacq, I think he is shot and done. He should be a journeyman facing people like Berto and Paul Williams, not the best in the sport.

Cotto fans disappoint me, Bob Arum has never, EVER ran Miguels career. Todd Debouff, Bob's son-in-law has ran Cotto's career from start to finish. It was Arums way of training him to take over for Arum when he retires or keels over, so saying Bob is ruining Cotto or whatever is bull****. I saw an article on here where Bob even admitted that now he's nothing more than the "media" guy, its the reason he's ALWAYS on vacation and yet somehow all these fights around the world are being made with Top Rank promoting them.

Secondly, there is nothing wrong with Cotto's career IDK what any of you are talking about. He got the Manny fight and lost (not because of Bob and company) but because he was trainerless and Manny was the better fighter its that simple. Cotto got battered in that fight and the reason Top Rank can't sell a rematch isn't because they hate Cotto, its because Cotto got the **** kicked out of him for 7 or 8 rounds and it was boring as **** from the 6th round on. Use your brains guys, Cotto may be sliding but he's still the biggest draw in the Top Rank stable behind Manny until that changes they are going to do everything they can to milk him.

Chavez/Cotto is the best fight that can be made for Cotto. A Manny rematch is not going to sell and I don't think he's ready for Marg yet, thus you have Chavez. He's an established draw with Mexican fans, and he's got name recognition with casual fans simply because of his name. This fight WILL be on PPV and it WILL do more than Cotto/Marg because while Marg was well known he wasn't nearly the star Chavez is in Mexico. Even if this fight does 500k and ties what Cotto/Marg did, Cotto stands to make 5 or 6 million, you aren't going to make that kind of money fighting anyone else who isn't name Manny or Floyd.

A rematch with Cotto would make him more money because he would keep the money in house. Cotto is taking some time off because he needs a break from boxing. Cotto can rematch Mosley, fight Berto, fight Floyd, fight Pwill, fight Martinez, fight Chavez Jr., rematch with Manny, etc.

Cotto has plenty of options left.

Cotto and his fans have nothing to complain about, he has been treated well and has gotten every fight he's asked for. He's been on television networks since his first fight and was on HBO consistently early in his career.
