Comments Thread For: Gotzev Says Oruh Has Good Chance To KO Povetkin

Boxing agent Ivaylo Gotzev thinks Teke Oruh (14-2, 6 KOs) stands a good chance to knock out unbeaten 2000 Olympic gold medal winner Alexander Povetkin (19-0, 14 KOs) on October 16 in the Russian town of Chekhov near Moscow. Gotzev says Oruh sparred in the past with IBF, WBO and IBO Heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KOs) and did very well in the sessions.

Povetkin has the worst trainer in the sport, his confidence must be very low right now.

    An upset is not impossible.

    War Teke!

      Gotsev is totally nuts!
Povetkin will murder Oruh, improved or not.
Some people say Povetkin has improved much with Atlas but i dont see much improvement yet. He will need damn much improvement to beat Klitschkos....

Nah, Gotzev also said Peter will beat both Klitschkos - he has to hype his fighter up and at least give him some confidence.

Povetkin beats him like drum, wouldn't be surprised if he gives up like Sykes. But this does nothing to prepare Povetkin for either Klitschko - what the hell is Atlas thinking?

Atlas usually knows how to pick the right opposition if nothing else. It will be a solid workout for Povetkin, nothing more, nothing less.

If thr guy did well with Klitschko, it's because he was allowed to.

No he doesn't Just look at how many of his guys were smashed, to the degree that the next thing you heard was that the next greatest, had found himself a new trainer..

Teddy has a history of bailing out if he can do it quick enough.

He "sykollergizes" all his guys into defeat, and you can be sure that Povetkin won't go much further (IN FACT he seems to be going nowhere anyway) unless he avoids the Klitschkos. He's only made a name because of his TV talk, and his brief few weeks in D'Amato's gym when Tyson was a 15 year old kid. Since then, as usual, he has become a Tyson "ezxpert".

I heard from a Russian source Povetkin's Oct 30 fight has been cancelled, BoxRec just hasn't updated it yet.
