propaganda? look up the word opinion

This is what the article is, a propaganda piece for Pacquiao, it's about generating attention and pre-fight hype. Whether it works as a propaganda piece depends on how many people buy into it; that I don't know.

If you were to view it as a piece of journalism - which you can't - I don't think Ali works as a comparison for Pacquiao, I get what he is trying to do in terms of sparring partners etc but it just doesn't work, it's forced.
That's ridiculous, Michael Marley is a boxing analyst, he gets paid to give his opinion. There was nothing in this article that was biased towards anyone, he was simply writing about an observation he had. When mike tyson was the p4p king there were plenty of opinion pieces in all kinds of magazines casting him as a beast and talking about his physical gifts. It comes with the territory, when u fight your way to the top of the dog pile, your going to gain respect in the public and media alike. Marley clearly thinks pac's a hell of a fighter and it comes though in his articles. If you disagree with his opinion that's one thing, but don't get your feelings hurt every time someone disagrees with u.

Come on bro, who cares what the WBC think/say.

Margarito is NOT a #1 JMW contender, and you know it.

Currently, Margarito could not even compete with the top welters.

Neither Manny nor Margarito should be ranked at 154.

If Manny deserved to be ranked, then he wouldn't insist upon a catchweight..... and Margarito is there because a got a free pass from Bob Arum so that this Top Rank exhibition match could make Arum a lot of money.

I think there's a difference under the circumstance that apparently Khan and JCC Jr aren't even sparring with Pac. Which goes to show that Marley was LYING about Pac sparring with them. Lying in an article is bad, if I remember... I belive there's even a word for it.

Lying? why would someone "lie" about something so worthless? there have been daily reports saying jcc jr is/isn't going to be sparring with manny. these things change day by day, plans change, reports change. all I'm saying is this was nothing more then an opinion piece, it wasn't ground breaking stuff by any measure. the fight is over a month away, these are the types of filler articles that are typical of the situation.

actually, I think having khan is just a promotional stunt to get khan more exposure. Also HBO probably asked for that.

as for JCC jr... he fights like margarito, so it's a good choice of sparring mate. but this could also be a promotional stunt. Arum probably asked for roach to bring in chavez.

Vanes is also there and can definitely replicate margarito's lack of speed, but he is a top rank fighter and arum probably wanted that to

                    sparring mates

did we know who duran sparred with when he beat leanard, moore or barkly? did we know who salvador sanchez sparing mates were when he beat lopez, gomes, or nelson? who sparred with morales win he won against pacman or his other wins? the only thing true in the article is that it helps to have a good team on your side if you want to be sucsesfull in boxing and sparring partners dont have to be renowned they just have to be good and have a good couch around to manage the sparing sessions. and believe me margarito's work ethic has never been in dought and he hasnt gotten to this point in his carier by sparring with daisys.
