I belive that Berto should be targeting fights with the likes of Cotto, Mosley at 147lbs, although he has already had his chance to fight shane n he declined

Me too. Thats the fight Berto has been holding out for but Top Rank doesn't seem interested. I thought there was a chance when the Chavez jr fight was called off but Alas.

hernandez and margarito are not even comparable. margarito was a top fighter and still might be(1 loss doesn't mean you are garbage only in floyd's world) for years while hernandez is a nobody.

Berto wanted to fight Cotto. Wanted to fight Cotto 3 times if I'm not mistaken. The first two times he passed were understandable, because Cotto chose to fight Clottey and Pac instead, which is understandable. The third time wasn't. Cotto just didn't want to take a risk and fight, so said "Thanks, but no thanks" after Foreman.

Appearently, Berto wasn't relevant enough, but Vanes was considered. Cotto's people only started talking about "Oh well he would had priced himself out" when it looked he was going to fight Adyin. That's a Floyd move right there. And maybe he should had took 60-40 for Mosley, but after a loss, I can see why he would want to stick to 50-50.

As far as Marg goes, the Marg of 2007 is an entirely different Marg than the one now, for reasons that may be legit or not, but lets not go there. Point is Margarito of today isn't that much better than Hernandez is right now, and it's a shame that Berto's opponent isn't that much worse than the headlining opponent of the top 1 or 2 P4P fighter today (Especially considering it's an undercard tune up.).

hbo could have made ortiz vs kotelnik but instead they gave this money to berto to fight a guy named freddy. maybe it's cause he's a slick african american fighter and they know that's the best syle in boxing that beats all other styles and can't be beaten. if they pretend he's floyd mayweather maybe fans will tune in.

Also people keep mentioning Clottey as a fight but we already heard he is moving up in weight as is Collazo. There really isnt much to chose from besides Mosley or Cotto and he may even have t move for those fights now.
