Clay won his first title when Sonny Liston threw a fight, and then threw the rematch. Liston was in deep to the mob, who didn't want Sonny as champ. Clay was a good clown for the white people, until he avoided the draft and became a ******. Then things changed, but how that he's sick, people love him again, of course.

Read The Devil and Sonny Liston by Nick Tosches for some interesting info on the Liston-Clay fights.

How can Vitali fight him before Adamek is willing to fight Vitali? He can't force him to fight. That wasn't a serious answer to the question you were asked, which was who do you think that Vitali should fight instead of Briggs, this year, given that Haye, Valuev, Solis and Adamek have all turned him down this year.

Different fighters age differently. Vitali is not far from his prime. Briggs' last meaningful win was five years ago, and even that wasn't very meaningful because Mercer was shot by then. And it's three entire years since he's been in a fight that lasted more than a round, which, given his history of stamina problems means he's likely to suffer from severe ring rust and is highly unlikely to be a threat for more than a round or two. And in that fight three years ago, he was schooled by Ibragimov.

Lots of fighters are shot by 30, while others are still close to their best approaching 40. It's not about age at all, it's about how close to your prime you are. And "prime" doesn't necessarily mean physical prime. Vitali's skills, like Hopkins' skills and Archie Moore's skills and Lewis's skills, have improved with age and extended his boxing prime by more than compensating for his loss of speed.

Seven years ago!!!! He was no longer a top 20 fighter by the time he fought Haye. What someone has done in the distant past is irrelevant.

Do you think Haye should fight Roy Jones next, on the basis that Jones once beat Ruiz?

Johnson was a top 10 fighter when he fought Vitali, and Chambers was a top 5 fighter when he fought Wlad. Even now, Chambers is still ranked #6 by The Ring. They are both streets ahead of Ruiz, who was not a top 20 fighter by the time he fought Haye.

You're being ridiculous. Chagaev was ranked #3 by The Ring when Wlad fought him, and Chambers was ranked #4 by The Ring. Peter was just outside the top 10.

By contrast, Ruiz wasn't in the top 20, and Valuev was ranked #6. But Haye still ran from the #6 fighter for most of the fight and barely sc****d a MD, with one of the lowest punch outputs in heavyweight history.

They lost many years ago and have both greatly improved since, especially Wlad. You may as well judge Pacquiao's current status on his losses to Singsurat and Torrecampo and his draw with Sanchez. And as for people being scared of them, the fact is that whether out of fear of losing, or just wanting to cash out with easy fights first, the top contenders have ducked them this year, as you would know if you bothered to keep up to date with boxing.

so you wanted me to come back and reply to this ? what a watse of time

first off, you got red K because you gave red K, simple as that
you're the one who gave me red K because you ''disapproved'', which is a ******ed action in itself

                      now, the topic
it is pretty simple, and I didn't change the conversation
I said what I said : Haye is a big puncher, a pure puncher (much better than Vitali in fact) and a good finisher, and if he lands the good punch, and he's pretty accurate at that too, he can put an incoming Vitali on his ass

if you take into consideration the fact that Haye can punch and that he is very fast and a good counterpuncher, and then the fact that Vitali has shown he is slowing down in his last 2 outings (Sosnowski was landing his jab almost at will on Vitali's jaw and he couldn't solve Johnson), then yes, if Haye doesn't fight too cautiously, he can knock Vitali the **** out

btw, Vitali has never been knocked down, but he has been hurt like anybody else (Lewis hurt him numerous times, and Sanders at least once)

you have the right to disagree, but arguing with me on the matter won't make any difference, cause I can tell reading your comments that you're just a little girl getting all wet in front of a Vitali picture
