Pacquiao fights opponents at THEIR weight.

Going up 40 pounds himself, and only asking a couple of pounds less from them.

DON'T GET ME WRONG, I am not in favor of catchweights.

But Manny is giving a lot more by fighting naturally bigger men closer to their weight. He's a skinny guy that has to eat like a mule in order to make 147, while, for example, Cotto is a natural fat boy that hangs around 170 and has to diet in order to make 147. Same thing with Hatton at 140.

the only gripe i have with Pac and these weight issues, are the titles that are on the line, if there is a ww title on the line the fighters should be made to fight at 147, if jmw then at 154 and so on. He is marg at 150, ffs that is closer ww than jmw, and a 154 belt is on the line. Apart from that i have no problems with him going up in weight classes

I agree with you. Belts should NOT be on the line in catchweight matches. If the belt is from 148 to 154, you should be able to weight between 148 to 154.

Listen dude,Pacman is the pfp #1.People have always criticized Floyd for not fighting fighters he considers a threat, well news flash homey, fighting people at catchweights for titles repeatedly is just as bad!!Margarito has done nothing at 154 to be fighting for a title there!!At the very least when Floyd fought for the 154 title,it was against Oscar who weighted in at 154 while Floyd weighted in at 149 & Oscar was a legit champion at 154!!Pacman isn't fighting Margarito at Margarito's weight,he's fighting him at bob arum's doctored up catchweight, that's what it is,period!!

the same Floyd fans that say "ABC" paper-belts are worthless and quote Mayweather "belts collect dust"...

are the same guys who have a gripe with Manny fighting catchweight title fights.

          Pick ONE.

          - either Championship belts don't mean anything...and the FIGHT and CHALLENGE is what matters...

          - or championship belts are legit and hold weight..and add to a fighter's legacy and status in the sport.

personally, I don't care too much about belts. the FIGHT is what matters. You don't need a championship belt to know that there are few, if any, boxers in the world who can beat Floyd or Manny.

So as for the Margo fight, and the vacant title being at a catchweight...who gives a ****? With or without the belt, Manny's legacy is already written in stone. (so is Floyd's). If the fight itself isn't fixed (bobby's a sneaky old turd)....then Manny will be fighting a MUCH bigger man who is at a meaningless disadvantage (Margo will make 151lbs easily).

Which one is it? I'm confused. Is Pacqiauo taking 1,000,000 calories a day to make 147? or has Pacqiauo been unoffically been weighing in at roughly 145 on the day of his fights since he was fighting at 130?

In fairness i havnt actually seen you personally jump on the new theory, but i know alot of others have, dudes need to make up there minds. As for fighting guys at there size, What about Oscar? Yeah Manny moved up but it still wasn't fighting at Oscars weight, as for the others, yeah your right.

Why ask Cotto to come in at 145lbs? why not 147lbs
Why ask Margarito to come in at 150lbs? why not 154lbs

Damn, belts were and are on the line

Cotto said he didn't have trouble making 145 and he felt just as strong as his last fight at 146 vs. Clottey.

Margarito has made 147 countless times...and was a force at that weight. He'll make 151 EASILY.
