I think it's because he simply doesn't need to. He will only fight if the money is right he doesn't fight for the plaudits so he will have 1 huge fight a year for mega bucks then he won't need to fight again because he's sorted for the rest of the year money wise.

its pretty complicated for floyd to fight the right man to fight, and even when he does fight them is usually when the fight is not as hot as it coulda been
megafights are what makes a fighter great and floyd needs to land one soon because honestly in his last "megafights" he was a +300 +400 favorite hardly a mega fight imo

Increase in supply lowers prices.WHat you said is true in a non differentiated product or cowboy brands.You can easily tell by the guaranteed minimum Floyd gets just to step into the ring that his strategy works.
This is Mayweather's deliberate strategy,he already said when he fights it's a superbowl,it has to be an event.Needless to say when Floyd fights you know where all the A-listers will be,Las Vegas spending money.It's like who is who will be in the desert,in everyone will be glued to the screens.Right now he hasnt even announced his fight yet there are more threads of Mayweather than Manny-Margarito,that shows the public's appetite for Mayweather's fights.
