I agree and Im a fan of Rios. Ortiz is bigger and better than Rios and would probably hurt him quick.

I'm a fan of both Ortiz and Rios, but I have to disagree with you and Fallen. I think with Rios grit and determination along with his geniune dislike for Victor, that Rios would be in it all the way. That kid wasn't even deturred by full on hits to the ***els by Peterson, imagine how he would be with a guy he despises (and obiously has personal issues between them). I think Rios would be full force on Victor the whole 12 rounds, and Ortiz might get discouraged if Rios takes his best shots and keeps coming. IMO it could be a 50/50 fight, maybe coming down to a battle of wills. I wouldn't count Rios out in that case.

It's definately a fight I would like to see.

KOTELNIK lost a controversal decison vs ALEXANDER,he won a close fight vs MAIDANA;ORTIZ quit vs MAIDANA.
KOTELNIK is a former world champion,so please!!!
Is KOTELNIK or ORTIZ to have something to prove yet?

This confirms that Victor Ortiz is a protected fighter now. He is also a damaged fighter as well. Marcos Maidana ruined him

I guess Golden Boy Promotions would not be willing to put him the ring with Paul McCloskey. Perhaps, Paul McCloskey would also be too dangerous for Ortiz.

mccloskey's a weak domestic fighter just like that other guy that they mentioned as a possible opponent, john murray.
they should really look into lining up mabuza. crude skills, winnable fight, a style that ortiz could look good against, but he is a tough cookie for sure.
ortiz has proven that his skills, ring intelligence and poise have improved. its time to test his mettle. mabuza would do that.

Kaizaer Mabuza is supposed to fight the winner of Judah vs Matthysse next.

I think Paul McCloskey would be Victor Ortiz's biggest fight since the Maidana loss. Paul McCloskey has knocked out all five of his last opponents. Plus Victor Ortiz has a terrible chin. Paul McCloskey will probably have a puncher's chance.

I think Ortiz needs to take the next step and start fighting higher competition already

title shot aside, i think a fight with ortiz would be more lucrative than waiting for the judah/matthyse winner.
i really dont care who mccloskey's knocked out. i've seen him fight and he is not a puncher.
